  1. I think I'll pick some of these up to experiment with. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ITP-1425573014B?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-ITP&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsZ3kBRCnARIsAIuAV_Ti2KLDMjY_Euyj3lrLbcLIA8RLkuqulM1F_MkeJ4wTzKufIiNTKdoaAtGNEALw_wcB Should work great with these tires I scored at tractor supply
  2. I know the idea of atv rims has been thought of many times for the 4x140 pattern. Lately at work I've been seeing all these Can-Am side by sides that run 4x137 14 inch rims. Some of them are really cool and even have beadlocks. Has anyone tried drilling out one of those rims to fit a old soob? I know people were nervous that ATV rims couldn't hold up to the weight, but some of the side-by-sides I've worked on are four seaters that weigh 1800 lbs without occupants and are made to take crazy jumps. Most of them make nearly 200hp. https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/side-by-side/maverick-x3/maverick-x3-max-x-rs-turbo-r.html I'll try to score a rim and update if it goes well.
  3. I have this kit on my brat and love it. I have single headlight but I assume there's one out there for quad lights https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hla-002395801/overview/
  4. I have a set of old 4x140 enkeis I was trying to find tires for and being 5.5 inch rims the widest tire that would fit would be a 185. A 205 would go on the rim but the sidewall may be curved in, compromising any benefit of the wider tire. I assume that your rim is also 5.5 wide. Do you want to keep the factory rim or would you like to upgrade? I did the 6 lug conversion on my 79 brat and I'm really happy with it. Opens up a world of tire options.
  5. I did this. I have a 79 brat with a 84 ea81 and 4spd. To get the motor to fit I had to remove the shield around the steering shaft on the cross member. I also had to shave the drivers side bottom engine stud a bit. The mounts on the tranny need to be moved to the rear mounting position. There are four tapped holes toward the back of the tranny. Use the brats original drive line and CV axles. I'm running a weber with no fuel return line. There's no way to easily set up a return system in stock form. Use the four speeds shifter. The linkage works without any welding. The original 4wd lever won't work.I'll post a picture of my solution to this. The ea81 has a internally regulated alternator. You need to remove the stock external regulator on the brat. Theres a guide on how to wire to bypass it on the forms. Pretty simple stuff

  7. Can anybody tell me which axles I need to order? Thanks
  8. From what I've read, a ej 5spd and legacy front axles work in a ea82 if also using ej wheel hubs. Is this true?
  9. Hey all. Does anybody have a part number for the bushing in the 4wd trailing arms? I'm also looking to replace the difference hanger bushing if anybody knows that number. Thanks
  10. Okay will do, I'll probably swap out the whole plug. At least I own a good soldering gun now. Thank You
  11. The end goal is a built up turbo ej sleeper wagon. I want to get the brakes and suspension beefed up to handle the power.
  12. For the rear I have xt6 5 lug hubs and disc brake conversation. I will get some uprated shocks and a sway bar.
  13. Here's my plan for the front suspension. Legacy brakes, hubs, and struts with a ea81 top hats. Ea82 crossmember with control arms reemed out to ej ball joint size. From what I've read, a ej 5spd and front axles work in a ea82 if also using ej wheel hubs. Is this true?
  14. Thank you for the replys everyone. I pulled the plastic off the bottom of the steering column. The pink plug for the ignition switch had melted internally, causing some of the connectors to touch. I pryed them apart and that solved everything. I drove the car to work the other day, which is a 25 minute drive. I felt the pink plug after driving for about 20 minutes and it was very hot. It wasn't hot to the point that the plastic was melting, but probably close. What would cause this? Thanks all.
  15. Hey all. I've been building a 82 wagon for awhile. I'm doing a 5 lug swap, ej22 and ej 5spd. I want to usea ea82 engine crossmember, so I can have power steering. I want to use a 94 ej power steering rack. Has anyone done something similar? I know the ea82 crossmember is a bit wider. I want as little lift as possible. Would using a piece of steel plate from the bottom of the framerail to the ea82 crossmember work? As long as I used thick enough steel plate I don't see a problem with it. Thanks
  16. Hey all! Happy new year. Recently the ignition switch in my 84 Gl started acting really funky. When the key is turned to the off position, the car thinks its on and will even run in this position. One click past off, the starter will engage. This is very annoying, as to turn the car off now i have to put it in accessory and disconnect the battery. Any suggestions? Thanks all!
  17. This site doesn't have a crank sensor listed for the 87 justy. http://www.askatech.com/askatechlive/aatfileshare/references/fasttrack/su005.pdf Ive also looked around online and haven't found anything about a new one for sale. Really sad this little car doesn't work, such a blast to drive. Thanks
  18. Thanks toonga. I will look for one when i get home. I thought that could be it, but i assumed since the car is carbed and older it wouldn't have one. But these motors are new to me. Thanks!
  19. Hey all. I'm still trying to get the poor justy going. It has intermediate no spark and bogs and putters while driving and stalls alot. It shows ecu code 11. So far I have replaced: Spark plugs Plug wires Distributor cap and rotor Pick up coil Ignition coil Fuel filter I don't feel like it's a fuel issue, although I do hAve a carb rebuild kit. Any ideas? Thanks guys
  20. I ended up grinding the bell housing down a bit and removed the rag joint shield aswell. I have had no problems with this setup.
