any ideas for a new exhaust set up for 1979 brat? easy and cheap is good. my y-pipe can be reused but the rest will need replaced. options or parts ideas to keep original or to do a whole new set up? thanks

anyone have any suggestions on a easy cheap exhaust set up for a 1979 brat? don't care if its stock or don't need emissions. just want it replaced to run better around the farm and back roads. thanks

I have the same problem with putting a new weber on my 1979 brat. not sure what to do. it started fine for a little and then now when I start it and try to give it gas, it just sucks air and backfires. can't find any vacuum leaks or anything. I know I do need a new exhaust system badly but don't know what to get or use or where or what or how or parts? good luck, post if you figure anything out to solve prob?

I just put a new weber carb in my 1979 brat and it did work for a little when starting. now I tried starting it the other day and it will idle slowly, but when trying to rev it..it will suck air big time(no pressure) and backfire alot? I didn't mess with anything and not sure where the vacuum leak would be? I know I need a new exhaust set up but not sure how or where to do that set up? it is cold out so maybe will the flaps on the carb will stick open? any suggestions will help...hope to look at it again when weather breaks? exhaust set up and carb tuning help is what I need to figure out. hope u figure urs out as well. thanks

this is awesome...keep it up! I just got a 1979 brat and starting the make over but learning as I go. I just got done sanding and painting some stuff with rust over paint. I need to find a spare tire hold down screw, rear jump seats, rear roll bar, a non rusty front face valance panel, and if anyone knows where to get a new exhaust/muffler system kit? more problems to come but at least its running so far! keep up the good work and info!
