  1. gone to a guy that has a tranny for it thanks for all the input, now looking for another wagon just not the turbo.
  2. Well I DON'T KNOW I have come to the end of my rope so I have posted the darn thing to Craigslist, I cant put any more money it just can't afford it. I wish I could. I'm asking 750 for it, I will be putting it in the Ads on this site to, Wish I had the Answer for the issue.
  3. So update-- I went out and drove for about 15 miles came home and drained all the fluid out of the transmission, I had a old 5qt oil jug that got filled up and part of another 1qt bottle. So I am figuring that it only had 6qts total in the system. My CHILTONS manual says that it requires 6.9-7.1 , I'm figuring that because of the difference in fluid that it is causing the problem. I have put in 6qs of new fluid and am waiting for morning to got to the parts store for another Qt. to top it off. fingers crossed that this is it. NOTE: The fluid level on the dipstick was always hard to see if it was full or not and so I figured that this was the best way to know how much fluid was truly in there.
  4. I have added more fluid than I would like to admit, almost 2 quarts to it but it is still doing the same thing. There is NO leak at all. Here Is a Question; If the PO had replaced the tranny and did not prime the torque converter could that be why I have put so much fluid into it? I bought it from a guy that was a little off it seemed, said he was going to put a Cummins into one of these little cars but he was stopped by SUBARU for taking there Idea after he had contacted them to see if they would supply the adapter for the transmission, like I said A LITTLE OFF.
  5. Thanks for the reply John, the power light is Blinking now that you mention it I dident pay attention before but it is blinking when I turn he key on. The Neutral Safety switch has been replaced by the previous owner, Have the po on it.
  6. Well here is the deal I have had the car for a couple of months now but due to some medical issues I have only put 20-30mils on it, I went out for a drive to day to see a friend, went 27.6 miles, and shut it off at his house for about 10 min or so. We were going to run to the store for beer but when I pulled out it would not shift into any gear past 2nd. I let it sit and cool down for a few hours at his house and then fired it up and drove home with no problems, got home and let it sit for about 10-15 min and went t drive it and it wont shift past 2nd gear, I don't know what it is that is wrong with it but I would like to drive it more than my Durango just because of the fuel cost alone. Any help would be VERY helpful, forgot to say the car is, 1990 Loyale Turbo with an Auto only has 155,650 on it now after todays trip. THANKS for Reading,
  7. I have a 90 Turbo Loyale, my light hasent come on either but I can feel it spool up when it gets to about 2400rpms or so, or if I stomp on the gas the power light will come on and it spools up and away it goes.
  8. No rattling except the heat sheild thats missing 2bolts. Seems the more I drive her around the better it runs. Found that the cooling line and one hose clamp that are behind the turbo were left loose and I had some water dripping out on the shop floor. Thought it was leaking out the head...... wheeeew had a moment
  9. Dang thaught I might be able to help you. If you ever get this way let me know. We get that way a couple of times a year.
  10. Thanks for the info MilesFox I will be checking the cam tower out. I found a "air"leak or pressure loss on the drivers side head there is an aluminum tube that screws into the intake and goes down behind the motor and connects into the exhaust manifold. Not sure what its for. I can't post pictures of anything as I access everything on my phone, no internet here in the sticks where I'm at.
  11. I have a 90 Turbo Loyale with only about 3500 miles since the rebuild. When the motor is cold and I start it I have decent pressure reading on the dash, when it warms up and the thermostat opens all oil pressure goes to "0". Now there is no oil in the water and no water in the oil that I have found. The oil pressure unit on the front of the motor is new,@rebuild. Could it be the oil is to thin? Is this from the "cracks "that these motors are known for. I do need to replace the pan gasket as it is leaking but could it cause this once the oil has warmed up? Please give me your .02 cents on this as I have not ran into this before.
  12. 509northwest I live in the 509 as well, I live at Deer Park, north of Spokane and depending on where you are I could get with you and try n get it narrowed down as to what's going on with your car.
  13. Well I have to admit I followed the recommendations of the others posting here. First I checked fluid level then I looked at how the TPS(Throttle Positioning Sensor) was aligned compared to a couple that I had took pictures of at my local pull-n-save. It was pushed all the way towards the fire wall, whereas the ones at the p-n-s were more towards the grill of the car. Once it started doing better I went ahead and followed the directions in my Chilton's manual to set it to the correct setting. Hope this will help you as it did me.
  14. Thank You both for getting me some help on this problem. Thank You for the quick response too.
  15. Ok well I have gotten it to shift as it should, I think, but it is still flashing the "POWER " light 16 times. From reading other postings that is just saying something is up with the transmission. I'm trying to figure out the code retract process still. The fluid is fairly new,3200miles, since the transmission rebuild. The motor was done about the same time. The guy I got it from sold it after his son passed and did not get everything back together in auto shop in collage. He transplanted the new motor and tranny.
