  1. That is Funny Great Fisherman. Psychotic, I was not trying to be rude, I just found it funny as these were so common. I had this Idiot tell me I was buying fancy cars. My Son started Laughing and said; Dad your Brat is one step up from a Beater. I felt that was a compliment as I considered My Brat to be a Beater. 800 dollars and Ugly as Sin. Put the Drivers seat out of one of my spare Brats on Friday into my driver, now my back is not Killing Me driving to work every day.
  2. Yes that is the same one in Ocean Park, Much rustier now. What a small world it is.
  3. For many a year the first thing I do to any Car or Truck I get is to remove all the Emmission Garbage, it does nothing but rob Horsepower and Mileage. The Emmission test B.S. is only another Tax. If it is not in perfect working order it causes Engine running problems. Catalytic Converters are only good because they bring good scrap money. Last one I did was my 84 Full size Jimmy, started tearing into it in the evening with six beers in me, finished tearing it all out by the ninth beer, huge pile of garbage, weight and crap on the ground in front of my truck. My son and his friend watched, when I was putting it back together the next day, I asked my Son if He had his doubts whether I would succeed or not, He said he did have his doubts but he has watched me fix so many things that his doubts were not all that great. Of course I had fun doing it in front of them and giving my two bits as I yanked, unbolted and hacksawed my way through the pile of garbage under the hood of my Truck. If anyone tells you emmission stuff does any good, they are probably Brainwashed and also believe in the Silly Spinning Earth Lie If it aint Broke, fix it till it is. hehe
  4. Has anyone looked at this, it seems like a good deal for 1395. It is on Craigslist. Also I cannot get to the forum when I click on it it brings me to the Market place is anyone else having this problem. Thanks
  5. Thank You, Sometimes I fail to look for the easy fix. I passed this on to another Dude. Wayne
  6. Awesome Brat Pooparu. I am into first gen's. what a sweet ride yours is though. Who made Your bumper, and great hood lines also.
  7. Screw the Gestapo, have a Friend with a stock Brat, put your plates on it, take the test. Go back to normal and have fun driving your Brat. Emmission laws are only for taking your MONEY. Fake Rothschilds Crap that it is.
  8. Phsychotic Subathusiast says it might be your fuse. Pull it and make sure end caps are not shot. I have not had any free time for weeks, maybe months, one thing I have noticed is only two cars out of hundreds maybe thousands have brighted me back. These Brats do not seem to be the brightest ones in the bunch.hehehe
  9. Trying to save time. Does anyone know the common problem causing this.
  10. Great Job Kiddo, nice place to work, when I was Sixteen I laid in three inches of water during December to do a Tranny swap in a 64 Ranchero. I have thgree Brat Bodies and one rusty one cut up. I have enough to make one Cherry Brat with sanding and painting, one beater and one to customize. If the World keeps going my customized one will look like a mini El Camino with a pointed 69 Camaro nose. Keep up the good work.
  11. What Car did this come off of. I am quite interested in it. I have read that there are wide 1600's. I would like to be sure it fits my 1600
  12. My new 1980 Brat looks to have very good to excellent black carpet. I am gettingf ready to pull the seats. I will know more soon.
  13. Wrap it in cardboard and duct tape and see what UPS or USPS wants to ship. Shoot give me the weight and height and i will check shipping. I would like to buy it. Thanks Wayne
  14. I have to get a hold of my sons friend to set up my camers on my computer, I run an Ubuntu program. I will probably be selling some parts soon, as I do not need 3 Brats. I wish you were closer. I would buy your Jackman tube Grill as I think they are cool. The rusty Brat I might buy tomorrow has the other kind of brush guard.
  15. I just bought a 1980 GL Brat in Eastern WA for the Doors and Fenders, but it is rust free and to nice to part out. So I need more parts now. I have a Rust free 1980 DL Brat Also a Rust free 1980 GL Brat with Roll Bar and Jump Seat bracket still in place. 1978 GL Brat with Rust in a few spots, very nice runner. 1979 DL Brat, 2 two dollar sawzall blades seperated the back from the front, it started to fall apart on the way home. Might get a super rusty Brat tomorrow with a lot of extra parts. I have enough parts to make one Cherry Brat. My Son calls it a Gremlin as it keeps reproducing. I bought my first Brat about two months ago.
  16. I have owned many a Car, I do not know what it is about these First Gen. Brats. But I have wanted to give it a Name since I got it. First running Car; 1970 Fiat 850 Sport Spyder (53 to 54 mpg) Second; 1965 MGB (Huge Stack of Reciepts in the Glove Box) Accidendtly learned to bring Her up on two Wheels on 90 degree corners to the left. Became Clockwork after that. Third; 1964 MGB, nothing like the first, Many an 80 to 200 dollar beater and I do mean many. (two that come to Mind, Volvo PV 544 Zero Brakes and a V8 64 Merc Comet Three on the Tree, Zero Brakes, E Brakes are a must have on Automatic 1964 Ranchero, 302 Four speed, speaker wire through the dash to pull for throttle(I was Young still) 1970 Olds 442 (Wicked) A few 1965 Mustang Coupes. Love Them. 1969 Mustang Fastback (backwards at 95 banging 4th crossing an angled RR crossing on Fruit Valley road by Frito lay) Vancouver WA. Flattened the leading edge BF Goodrich TA Came out Unscathed, expected a Telephone Pole wrap on that one. Honorable Mention 1983 Camaro Z28 Hugged the Road, Ended Her at South Sound Speedway, number 2 on Leaderboard at Lap 101 of a 300 lap Enduro at Portland Speedways 1/2 mile Dirt Track. lost a rod shortly after. 1969 SS 350 4 speed Twelve Bolt Posi Numbers matching, Camaro, Built the Engine, Straight Body No Bondo, two tiny rust holes in floorboards. Put her together could not drive Her without bringing Her rear around on corners. Parted Her out to pay Wifes Credit Cards, became an Ex after 21 years. Still angered over that one. Not Her, Losing the Car hehehe. Just kidding in a way, how could she leave her children no matter what age, our Son still lives with me Many a 200 to 1200 dollar beater (Inflation what an Artificial Construct) Many small and large Pickups. Currently have a Sweet never Four Wheeled 84 Full size Jimmy. My Subie, Rust Free 1980 Ugly as Sin primered black and a 1978 Typical Rust, Tight running Gear Nice Interior also a 1979 Cutting apart due to extensive Rust. Also have two spare Jimmys. Power Star Tires on White spokes or Thunder City Tires on stock Rims. My Son says to name it Max Power I like this one as these things are just Terrifying due to their Overwhelming Horsepower. Starship Down would be my first thought, Captain She is Breaking up. I find myself always reaching for fifth gear, my list was only a partial one. One Reason I might like Her is when You look at her right She is a Fat Bottom Girl, just not as much as a 69 Camaro or 69 Mustang fastback.
  17. I would have typed Retorque a Million times and not realized it was on the same row.
  18. That was funny. When I have the Heater Fan on my Wipers get real slow. I have seen posts on upgrading the EA 81 Engines, but nothing on the EA 71. I am also wanting to put My Hydrogen Generator on it and it will draw close to 30 amps itself. I want to prove to myself wether it works or not.
  19. I have a primered black 1980 Brat, I took a roller and threw some white stripes on my hood. Shouldn't this give me about an extra five horsepower. It is a 1600 4 speed and I tell people to hang on as the horsepower will terrify them. On a lighter note has anyone done an alternator upgrade on these first generation Brats.
