I drive a 1992 Legacy L 2.2 5-spd. I used to have it lowered but decided that it would be more fun for where I live to lift it! I live in Twin Falls, ID and have always loved Subaru's. I am definitely a true Subaru nut for life!

  1. Thanks everyone for your help and info. I think for $750 I might try to built my own lift but we shall see. If I do I'll to a full detailed write up!
  2. OK well I actually used the forester springs. Only think I used legacy was the rear top hats. Everything else is forester. These are from an '04.
  3. Hey everyone so I installed the '04 Fozzy struts and now the front sits higher than the rear. I have some weight in the back but I wouldn't think it would be enough to make a difference plus when I push down on the front of the car its nice and stiff but the rear is kind of soft. These struts only have 40k miles on them so idk what's going on. I measured from the bottom of the rocker panel to the ground on on the back and front and there was an 1 1/2" difference. I'm not really liking it. Was hoping to have the same height front and back.
  4. Awesome! Thanks for that info! And where would I go about buying that kit?!
  5. What Size tires are you using and where did you get your wheels and adaptors? I looked for a cragar with our bolt pattern but no luck and its even harder to find a wheel in a 15" x 8" with a -38mm offset. I was thinking of running a 225/65/15 tire but just curious what you are running. I am wanting the tires to stick out as much as yours do but am having trouble finding the right wheel set up online at least. next stop will be my local tire shop. I have a 92 Legy Wagon and will be running '04 Fozy Struts and eventually a 2" spacer lift if not even a whole body lift!
  6. Hey guys and gals, my name is Tom, I'm 23 from Twin Falls, ID. I have a beautiful wife, Chelsea and a handsome 5 mo Son, Jason! If there's anyone else on here near by HMU!!! I drive a 1992 Legy Wagon with just over 295K miles on it. I'll be picking up some '04 Forester XT struts with 40k miles for $150 in a couple days and they will be the beginning to my lifting journey! After the struts when we buy a house and I have my own space to work on my car, Ill be doing a 2-4" spacer lift between the struts and body and am currently figuring out the numbers for desired wheel size/offset and tire size! As of right now, it's just stock height with '03 WRX wheels and low pro tires as I used to have it slammed. Now got tired of that and decided its way more fun to go mudding and offroading then scrapping on everything i drive on! lol Also my better half has a '98 Fozy that we will be doing some minor offroad upgrades. Probably will leave it stock height but go with the 27" tires. Then I'm going to build a front bumper push bar to accommodate some lights as well as find a cargo rack and put some lights up there as well. So far from what little I've looked around and from the small experience I've had talking with some of you for a question I recently posted about, this is a great place to make great friends and to learn so so much! I am really excited to becoming a part of the Lifted Subie community!!!
  7. Thanks for the info WoodsWagon. I actually cut the break line brackets already on the front struts that are on the car now... I actually found a complete set of struts from a guy in the Subie Club I'm in off an '04 Forester XT with 40k miles on them for $150 that I'll be picking up Wednesday. That's half the price of anywhere else I've looked for struts, even the junk yard. I appreciate everyone's help and info/knowledge/wisdom! I'll post pics as soon as I get them on and as soon as I figure out how to post pics. Haven't completely read the how To's yet. Thanks again!
  8. Unless the legacy spring and the forester spring are the same length and the only difference is the length of the strut. I'm just trying to get the most lift out of the struts...
  9. Would they be complete with springs or only just the struts. I need the springs too is why I thought $75 for a complete strut with everything I need wasn't bad...
  10. Awesome!!! Thanks Bratman! And ya I figured I'd have to use the top hats. Thanks for the info!
  11. Hey guys and gals! Im new to the board, havent gotten a chance to do my intro thread yet but needed to ask a quick question. So I looked through a bunch of the pages in this area to find something about my topic but didn't see anything so if there is already something about it I apologize ahead of time. My question is, I have a 92 Legacy Wagon and want to put the Forester struts on to begin my lifting project. I can get the full strut assembly for $75 a piece at my local junk yard just need to know what year of Forester I can use the struts from. Thanks everyone! Can't wait to start my lift project and share the journey!!!
