  1. Been searching for a quick answer to this and haven’t got a definite one. I have a 1999 leg/outback with the Ej25d. It’s getting tired and I think the bottom end is going soon. Regardless I want to get a EJ22 to freshen up and have on deck ready to put into my car. I want the phase1 2.2 for reliability and ease. I’ve found a couple 93’ and 94’ motors, If I understand right those were in OBD1 cars. My question is are the engine harnesses the same as in my 99’? Will I be able to plug in and run one of these older motors? I’m aware of the other things like IM and Y-pipe the match the 2.2 heads and EGR system. I don’t mind running no EGR. thanks guys
  2. Those are the rims im looking to get, where are you located?
  3. Just looking for any info from fellow board members that may have done buisiness with either company. Or honest opinioms of what motor seems to be the best bet for reliability
  4. Honestly so would I. But at the moment i am more strapped for time than money$. And i have never even split a case on a motor, so id imagine it might be a slight learning curve my first time. But i do have 2 cores so ill keep one to take apart someday to do my own rebuild.
  5. I want to drop a fresh rebiuld into my Wagon befor winter kicks in. One way or another it will happen. But i was wondering if any of you guys have knowledge or experienced service from Enginehaus ?? Or Mark the guru?? A long block from enginehaus is 1695, and that is with shaved heads, bored cylynders, ect.. While Markthegurus long block is OEM spec and is 2000.. I want the motor to last as long as possible, of course a lot if that is up to me and maintainng it.. But my question is.. What would you do??

  7. Well I have to flip the switch to kill the motor.. so always . ..unless I crash
  8. Had my alternator die on me last night.. slapped on the alt from my EA81. Seems to be running a little better now too. Is there anything I should be weary of when running the msd and fuel pump off of 1 switch hard wired to the battery?
  9. What are the points that line up on the disty that you mention??
  10. i don't have a manual. I'm not 100% sure on the procedure. Anyone know of a Thread on the forum with info for me? I've searched multiple ways and times. thanks!

  13. Ohh ya and today I got a timing light to use.. But I didn't see any marks on the crank pulley.. Do I have to make a new mark? When? Where?
  14. So I swooped up this brat about a week ago. Ea71, came with a weber 32/36, electronic disty, and an red MSD box. All or this wasn't hooked up when I got it. So I've wired up the fuel pump and MSD coil to a toggle switch under the dash. Seems to work good after I replaced the Weber carb (with the pretty much brand new one I had). Had it running, but definitely off time. So I did my best to get it 10 btdc and roted the disty one tooth clockwise. Seems to run a little better. Starts up and idles smooth. But it still just has no power!! I know 1600 will never produce much.. But I feel I should have some sort of Benefits in having the weber carb, de smogged and the multiple spark ignition!!?? So my question is, How would this set up be working properly? Tips and or tricks?? I WILL POST PICS LATER TODAY !! thanks for any help!
  15. Awesome. I hope that's true! I have brand new KYBs for a ea81 wagon and I just got a '79 brat that needs struts and lowering can any one confirm that?

  17. looking to source a remanufactured ea81, just the short block. Or a good working one that could maybe use a rebuild. Anyone in Seattle area have leads? Also curious if anyone has delt with engineHaus in Gig Harbor?? Thanks for any help!
  18. Thank you. Makes sense really.. I just didn't think. I'm gonna experiment and see how some stock springs feel
  19. I'm thinking it will be easier to drill the rims.. Less metal to drill through and I don't have to get more studs. And when winter comes around I can throw my stock wheels and tires back on. I've seen a lot of people do it this way and never heard of any issues. And I got the set of rims for 80 bucks, so why not try it
  20. Still looking for springs that I can cut to be shorter and possibly have a stiffer rate. What springs are the same as the stockers? Do ea82 springs sit on the strut and in the top hat the same?
