  1. I am coming to au from june 25th thru aug 4th... Will be arriving in Sydney then travel to the golden triangle area near Bendigo, Castlemaine, Ballarat, etc to do some gold fossicking. Would love to visit any subie people in the area. please reply to post if interested.
  2. My brat had the same problem and it was the starter switch. If you turn the key all the way it just clicks but if you turn the key very slowly in the spring forward part of the starting cycle mine would start it just fine but if I kept going it would seem to pass the conection in the switch and then the starter would just click. try moving the key forward very slowly to see if this is the problem. I got a new starter switch for about 15.00 bucks new.. Works just fine now.... Bret
  3. Could all these links be put in the USRM PRODUCT LINKS & REFERENCES area or make a new catagory by someone??? THX Bret
  4. The new pump only was getting maybe 3-4 amp max from the 2 amp charger....... You still have a bad connection, a ground problem, pinched wire or bad points on the relay... If you have a DVM, or OHM meter you could check continuity of the wires and condition of ground connection. Also depending on the circuit configuration you should be able to use a wire and complete each leg with that wire and jump along until you find the bad wire or connection. Bret
  5. About the direct wire making it run ok, unless the original wire is almost broken you will still get 12 volts but it will not supply enough current acting like a resistor. The voltmeter is showing potential (12 volts) not what current is traveling thru the wire unless you measure for it with an amp meter. I would try to find out if that wire is pinched and almost broken some where. If it is down to only one or a few strands of the wire it will not supply enough current to run the pump but will still show the correct voltage. If the wire is hot to the pump then grounded thru a relay or other source this is probably where you’re loosing the circuit. If the relay is dirty or the points are bad that will act as a resistor and drop the current. If it goes to a bad ground connection you’ll get the same results. If it goes thru another component then check those connections.
  6. That's a millipede. Non leathel. sometimes in the desert monsoon season they come out in thousands. unreal all wheel drive creature goes up and over anything. Bret
  7. I drilled 2 more holes in the wheel. They're steel Toyota Tundra wheels. The hole in the center doesn't have to be modified. They have about an 1" - 1.5" offset. I perfer to drill out the steel wheel than to mess with the hub. Much easier to do than drilling cast metal and sufacing the backside of the hub so the lugs seat correctly on the uneven surface of the backside of the hub. Bret
  8. even over charging by a little bit will cause the fluid to boil and vaporize. the battery caps are not sealed, once this starts it will cover the battery top with a very thin coat of fluid that will start to corrode anything it gets on. I would check volt & amp output. also have the battery fluid checked for the correct mixture percentages. if it's to high, this can also cause this type of problem even with a good alt. Bret
  9. My OBSW was making a creeking noise when turning. It turned out to be a bad lower ball joint. Easy fix.... Bret
  10. Did you check that the pump is pumping good fuel flow at the carb? Bret
  11. I re-connected the gas line and cranked for 10 minutes. By this time the fuel filter was barely rising and my battery was dieing. I'm still not sure why it was taking so long for the gas to get to the carb. Sounds like your fuel line or filter is clogged. I would think you should have about the same fuel flow after your filter up near the carb as you do back at the pump itself. check to see if the carb is getting good flow to it.
  12. I would look to see if the axle boot is ripped. Bret
  13. I'm with McBrat each time you've moved the wires down by the pump its had success. I would start there moving toward the relay checking the wires and connectors along the way. Bret
