  1. Next is some geometry correction and then we can get into the fun stuff
  2. so after running into a myriad of omissions problems on my 2000 outback sedan which was lifted on Baja springs I decided to avoid E missions all together and bought a beautiful 1995 legacy LS that was literally a grandma‘s garage kept car . What a joy it is working on this thing because there is practically no rust and damn near every single bolt has come out with ease . On top of that this 95 model is OBDII with ABS a sunroof and a perfectly untouched interior and body . How could I go wrong with a 23 year old EJ 22 with 125,000 original miles . From the looks of it almost every maintenance part on the car has already been replaced !! I even found a little bag in the glove box with grandma‘s hand writing containing an interior light bulb . 1300$ Is a little more than I would’ve liked to pay but this rust free beauty is priceless to me. Step 1. GET HIGH! 2 inch body lift with 3 inch strut spacers Forrester and outback struts and with a little clever engineering turbo Baja springs jammed into the struts .
  3. I just put on 225/65/16 "s some rubbing with 98 ob struts 02 forester springs and 98 ob control are brackets and there is slight rubbing but after a few cuts and bangs they fit just fine, any bigger would probably not work without a body lift. anyone have good pics or ideas on how to finish of wheel wells and fenders after cutting, im going to weld steel plates to strenghten the frame wher i cut but some experienced advise would help
  4. use 96-99 outback rear struts with forester springs in the rear and complete forester setups in the front. The 04'+ will be slightly higher but the springs from anything before that are taller. they are also softer so if your looking for stiffness stay with the outback setup all the way around. also change the rear trailing arm brackets it is totally worth it. take the time to pb blast the bolts for the brackets very well and try not to use an impact on them. there are welded bolts in the frame that if broen are a tragedy to get out. I did mine last night and ended up cutting off one of the bolts and now have to weld the bracket in place. if you want to go ghetto drill new holes in the back strut mount holes to fit the new pattern, if you have spring compressors etc keep your old tophats and change them out. the easiest way is to get the outback complete strut assemblys all the way around from a 96-99 and change them out. it is the cheapest and youll get almost 2 inches for around a hundred bucks.
