  1. Depending on the reliability of this car I won't mind replacing struts with new ones when I am able to. Wreckers here on Vancouver Island want $700 for decent used ones.
  2. Thanks guys. I'm going to be running the stock wheels. These struts are only $100 for all for and the owner says they're in good condition.
  3. I bought a good running 1998 Legacy L for next to nothing. The struts/springs are done. I found a 2000 Impreza Outback wagon for parts with good struts. Can these be swapped into my Legacy ?
  4. These cars are FUN and not show quality but we love em, red-ish one is a 1994 4x4. white one in snow was a 1993 4x4 ( now crushed) the other white one with black stripes is a 1986 GL FWD 5speed with a near mint interior and way less rust than the Loyales. Also less mileage. No pics of these cars in real off road terrian, nobody would get out to photo them lol

  6. Just thought I'd mention we went through two radiators from Rockauto. They split in the exact same place, left hand lower and not where the plastic is bonded. We put the old radiator back in and it was fine other than a garden hose could blow the fins out. Finally found an old metal one localy at a wreckers and it's been fine ever since. Best of luck to you.
  7. No interest in the wheels, they've all been crushed with the cars they were on. Too bad
  8. I was in a wrecker today and I found 4 old Pugeot cars all with wheel rims. 8 alloys with centre caps and 4 steel ones. Let me know if you're interested. I'd buy them all if someone wants to purchase some for their Loyale, GL or older Subaru 4x4. Message me on here or e-mail me @ krishokanson777@hotmail.com. Cars are located on Vancouver Island Canada. I posted a pic from online that is an axact wheel are these cars have. The steel ones are straight but some rust. - Kris

  10. Well I pulled it all apart. Put new belt on and double checked everything and the belt just goes back to where it was. I'm going to just run it like this till it flies off. It's a second car and we can live without it even though it's so much fun.
  11. I put the old tensioner back on thinking it might be the problem and it did the same thing leading me to think it isn't the tensioner since it wasn't doing this previously. Which way did you bend it ?
  12. Hey guys (gals) I recently replaced my timing belts, tensioners etc. Everything was working fine until a couple weeks ago. The left hand side belt it sliding towards the engine. I replaced a tensioner and realigned the belt a few times and it just jumps back. Any idea's please ? I'm at a loss. Just tried to upload pictures. My files are too large and not sure how to reduce the file size. The timing belt started to cut into the plastic cover behind the cam wheel. It's maybe a 1mm or so over the edge and I don't think it's safe to drive.
  13. I'll try this. The car is not rust free. I have never seen a rust free Loyale around here ever. I replaced the wheel bearing and now the rear left wheel looks really tilted. Tomorrow I'm going to put it on a jack stand and have a good look underneath to make sure it isn't a rust issue. It didn't look too bad when I took the arm out to get the bearing replaced.
  14. Hello everybody. So I replace left rear wheel bearing. Reassembled everything and forgot to mark a few things to line them up properly. Included a pic of the wheel and any help greatly appreciated. I tried to post picture of rear left wheel. File is too large and I cannot reduce it with this computer. It's tilt further into the wheel well at the top. So it's flopped over fairly far.
  15. Yeah I actually found a set for $13 for all 4. Nice since I see the same ones going upwards of $40 each. Shipping to Canada is expensive but worked out to be about $10 a piece. I went for the old school metal centers.
  16. Hey everyone. I'm looking for a set of metal center caps from an older model or a set of the plastic twist on ones. Any leads would be much appreciated. I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Canada. The car has the full size wheel covers that keep breaking and falling off.
  17. It makes a bit of noise in neutral and the noise goes away when you press in the clutch. I would say its a whir more than a rumble. It doesn't make a difference turning right or left. Only when giving the car gas and its the same in all 5 speeds. Makes no difference in 4wd or 2wd. We really like this car and hoping it doesn't need a transmission.
  18. Thanks guys, gave me some options. I have no idea how to swap a transmission though so if it die's it's dead lol
  19. I filled it with the proper fluid and it didn't seem to make a difference. The car only makes the whining sound when accelerating, if I back off the gas it disappears. Does this sound like something that needs immediate attention or can it be driven as if. I still have the same car for parts and before I ruined the clutch it didn't make any noise while driving as this one is.
  20. It's low, will top up today and see if it helps. Our other car was low too but never had the noise. -Thanks
  21. Hello everyone. We decided to buy another car rather than fixing our super fun super beat up bush car. It's a 1994 red Loyale 4wd wagon. Runs really well and doesn't seem to have the annoying valve noise either. However driving it home last night it makes a whining noise in all the gears and I'm concerned about this. Appreciate any thoughts/advice on what it might be. Also the front axles have been replaced within the last year or so.
  22. Hi I'm on the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island. I've listed these two cars for parts and it's like I can't even give them away. I scrapped the 94 that wasn't running after having ads posted for 10 days and no response and was just looking for a best offer. I still have the 1993 one that is badly rusted with worn clutch but in running condition. Anyone close to the area interested in this vehicle. Probably best for parts. Drivetrain works as it should. Engine is loud (lifters) Has new muffler and snow tires. Thanks - Kris
