  1. Thanks. No, not stock. I bought a 1981 Brat just for the roll bar and seats but the bar did not fit correctly, so I found some tubing that came from an old swimming pool ladder and diving board and adjusted the bends and welded it to fit the way I wanted. The truck does have the jump seats in the back now.
  2. I had the same problem. The bed trim was beat all to heck. Spent many hours knocking out the dents and sprayed it with Raptor Liner. I think it looks better than the chrome look.
  3. I'm still watching your progress. The supercharger is COOL. I just got an EJ18 motor with 68,000 miles on it for free so I'm looking to do a swap out of the EA81 motor on my green brat. The extra 35 horses would be great. It would be great if you were doing an EJ swap so I could follow along and get some tips. Keep up the good work.
  4. Nice work! The vinyl looks great.
  5. AMAZING! I've been looking at these for several years and have never seen one in better shape.
  6. Those are some awesome vehicles. You definitely have skills, that's some work to be proud of. My favorite is the Samurai. Love those and the Trackers, just getting hard to find good ones. I've done a couple older chevy trucks but after restoring a '81 VW Rabbit diesel pickup I was hooked on having vehicles that are out of the ordinary. That van is definitely not ordinary but very cool!
  7. I know what you mean, all you really is need is one Brat. Too many other cool (or rare, different, not mainstream) vehicles out there to play with. I also plan on selling my other Brat ('81) to try and recoup some of the money spent on the '87. My wife will probably won't understand when she finds out I'm looking for a 62-65 Ford Falcon/Ranchero pickup.
  8. Lucky dog, you've got two nice Brats! Looks like Brat #2 has already been lifted.
  9. You've got a lot to do this summer. Can't wait to see the progress! I'm going to have to do some A/C work also. What is Brat #1? Thanks for the heads up on the CL listing but I already have seats, headrests and belts, they just aren't installed yet. Plan on making some kind of quick in/out system for the seats.
  10. Nice Brat, have you made anymore progress? Have more pics?
  11. Thanks for all the nice comments. Bratrod, I will try to post a couple of before pics. Buckkiller, I don't have any closer pics of the trim and bumper right now but I will try to get some. The bed liner material I used is called Raptorliner, tuff and easy to use if you get the kit with the spray gun (check TCP Global or Amazon) gets great reviews. I have considered the stripe kit and will soon be putting jump seats in the back.
  12. Thanks, yes those are 16" Silverado wheels.
  13. Just finished the BRAT. I've wanted one since I was a teenager (long ago). It took a year and a half but was totally worth it! Now I can start working on my 1st generation 1981 BRAT. I learned a lot from the good people on this website.
