  1. the white one the right in the pic is what you are looking to buy?
  2. Thanks guys for the inputs. It sounds like I should stay with US 87 as I have been using. You folks have a great weekend! bratkozo914
  3. Hey guys, So I have been using my '86 Brat for 40 miles commuting and I just love it. I've got a question for you today. What octane should I use? It still has a stock single carb under the hood. I have been running with the lowest octane(87?) and so far so good. But just realized the owner's manual says 90???? So I need some feed back from you guys. Thanks in advance, bratkozo914
  4. Hi guys, 1st oil change since my owner ship. What kind of oil would you recommend? I live in Northern California and I have 1986 Brat. Also, what brand is the best for an oil filter??? Thanks in advance! Bratkozo
  5. so I took the cable off the truck and found out the cable was broken at the swaged point of the pedal. Now I have a problem taking the clevis pin off. There is not enough space for the pin to slide out. A snap ring of the pedal shaft is very tight and has a large diameter. How do you guys take it off? Thanks, BK914
  6. Thank guys for the info. I will take the broken cable off 1st to see what my brat actually have there and what's really happening there. BK914
  7. Hi guys, I am kind new here. I bought a '86 Brat about a month ago and been driving the car until 2 days ago. The clutch cable broke right in front of my house gate. Yes, I am super lucky that did not happen on the freeways!!! Anyways, my weekend project is to change the clutch cable. It seems to be easy to access but noticed there are several options for length of the cable when I checked my local parts store website. The cable is still in the car so I don't know the exact elngth. So what's the stock length or your recommended brand or lengh???? Please let me know. Thanks, BK914
  8. Glad to know that '79 is good to be registered in CA. You have save my time to contact DMV since I can't really expect them to answer my phone calls. Thanks, bk914
  9. The last sentence, I can read as "THIS VEHICLE CONFORMS TO US EPA REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO 1979 MODEL YEAR NEW MOTOR." How does it sound like to you?
  10. Thanks guys for the inputs. The one I am considering right now is a '79 Brat. Pic of the sticker the owner sent me is not really clear but I have seen some '79s for sale somewhere in CA. So does this mean it is CA certified? Please look at attachment to see what you think. Thanks!
  11. Hey guys, So I am new here and don't even have a Subaru yet. But I am about to get one soon and the car is in other state. Now, I wanna ask you all CA Subi members who have a car that's newer than 1976 models, how hard it is to pass our notorious smog test. Also if you got a car from other state, how was your experience registering your older Subaru? in CA??? Please let me know. Thanks in advance, bk914
  12. Hi, Got photos of 360 from my dad. The building behind me and 360 is a theater that is named after a founder of Hitachi, LTD. Are the Hitachi brand carburetors any good? Thanks for looking! bk914
  13. Hey Loyale 2.7 Turbo, Thanks for the welcome message from Honduras! There is a one photo of the 360 & me in his biography that he wrote but I don't have a scanner so I have just asked him to send me some pix. He had 2, one was bought used and other one was a brand new. Bet he really loved that car. I might end up posting 360 photos before my Brat though... Thanks, bk914
  14. Hi guys! I am new to this forum and Subaru world. But actually my first car was a Subaru 360....well it was driven by dad when I was a toddler. BTW, this weekend I will finally be able to buy a '79 Brat for myself. I am glad to have found you guys here! Thanks, bk914
