  1. Not only is the Tribeca better built then SUV's costing 10K more but it out-perform's all of them where it counts! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4999142340359932162
  2. Just for info, the Tribeca beats *everything* in it's class and except for pure 4x4's when comparing it's AWD/VCD..nothing compares. If ya want to see some proof and need to show others how a real SUV is suppose to behave. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4999142340359932162
  3. No offense to 3.0 owners but from what I've read, the 2.5L is a better choice. The 03> have 165hp which seems to be a excellent match and if you do some serious shopping, you may find a newer lower mileage OB 2.5 for most likely the same price.
  4. I installed the Hella-Projectors fog lights last year, they really light up the road area right where you want them but they also auto turn off on HB.. and I'm sure I read how to override the fog lights OFF on high beam somewhere here but I didn't find it?
  5. Even the VERY few older vintage that had HG issues(not 03-07 2.5L),they were diagnosed in the first 10K miles. Your 03 is not even on the list..not an issue. figetaboutit! I'd be willing to bet with even no-service at all in 40k miles..that 03 motor is running perfect. One owner suggestion..if your in a winter zone,do yourself a favor and read the reviews on the Dunlop M3 winter/sport tire at Tirerack..makes subbies bulletproof in all conditions as noted. Just make sure it had/has the full 30K service done..flushes all fluids and power flush trans then new plugs, oil and filters...it's ready now for it's next 30K... enjoy.
  6. Thanks,I'll check with both..I think I checked Joe earlier but I'll double check. Eventually I'll locate a dealer who has a huge stock of 06's and will sell at dealer cost or even dealer auction cost (rarely)..I found my 03 this way,I just had to pay the shipping, they seemed glad to move the stock.
  7. I used Kelly BB to determine an 06 current value by entering data in the Used section listing the mileage under 50..this seemed to work.
  8. I'm beginning to realize it's too early to find the best deals on 06's,I think I'll need to wait for more 07's to arrive and the dealers have overstock. Does anyone have a strategy or a link to one which deals with when to buy? How much does a *new* 06 depreciate when it's technically a year old?
  9. Excellent,I can see most of the dealers inv then check their web site for more details and rebates...I may be looking alittle too early since the 07's are just now hitting the lot but maybe not.
  10. Does anyone know of a subaru search engine that will check all US subaru dealers inventory? I'm trying to locate a GT Wagon as close to the west coast as possible and I'm also open to the L non-GT. Thought I'd move up from my fab 03 roo to a GT mainly because of the 5sp auto plus the other goodies. My only complaint has been the lack of one more gear in an otherwise almost perfect car.
  11. hmmm,my 03 Legacy 2.5 L only has a "4sp" Auto and it's always searching for a gear in the mountain areas...really hurts the engine performance/efficiency when ya need it the most.
  12. Wow,ya gotta wonder why..our type of terrain demands it, ...let's hope a 5 or even a 6 speed auto makes makes it in the Legacy this time. I'm looking for a 2007 replacement for the 03 and with stability control and traction control as options on some of the non-awd's cars,I may jump ship for the right combo but I'd hate to...we have loved our roo's but the times they are a-changing.
