  1. I use whatever 10w30 is on sale in my Subaru. I change it every 3k and have not had any problems with the engine. My other cars usually see Castrol or Shell. I tend to use Bosch filters on my cars if they are available and will never ever use a Fram filter.
  2. Take it to another shop. It's ovbious these guys don't know what they are doing.
  3. A quick google search pulled this up for ODBII P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire detected P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire detected P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire detected P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire detected I'm sure others here could tell you alot more than I can but, I would check the plugs on Cylinders 2 and 3 to see what they look like. It could be bad wires, bad plugs or a bad ignition coil. Let us know what happens. I'll drink a Labatt Blue tonight for ya.
  4. I wouldn't worry about it. It just sounds like the person who did it is a jerk and who really cares what they think. If you like your car, that's all what matters. I have several cars that most people don't like, a Probe and a Fiero, and I really don't care if people like it or not. I drive and own these cars because I love them.
  5. My buddy's father has an old oil burning heater, so I drop my oil off to him. It's a bit stinky but it heats his wood shop up really nice.
  6. Well, I'm no speed demon in this car. But, today I had to pass two cars today and it responded just fine (dumby drivers talking on a cell phone). I just replaced the fuel filter the other day and have allready ran a full tank through the car and noticed 2 mpg difference. It could also be that the summer gas may be out in my area now.
  7. It all depends what you are looking for. For some reason Napa always seems to have the wierd gaskets my Ford Probe needs and the people there seem to know what they are talking about. I buy parts from all of the part stores, it all really depends on what I'm looking for. I do however, buy my oil from Wal-Mart because I'm cheap.
  8. Wow. How many tickets have you gotten so far? Is it still easy to work on too?
  9. Do they offer a turbo in the Legacy? That would be something I would be interested in.
  10. If you throw up please don't do it in your car. I had a chick do that once and it sucked. Anyway, I tried the oil additives back in the day and never noticed an increase in MPG or engine performance. I just use regular 10w 30 in my Subaru every 3000 miles and she has gotten me and my family to 140k. Just use a good motor oil and you should be fine. I think Advanced Auto parts still has a deal on Shell.
  11. I couldn't agree with you more Gnuman. Working on this car is just a pleasure. My next new car purchase is definately going to be a WRX. I'm hoping it is still fairly easy to work on.
  12. Oh, my "impossible to fix american made car" is a Frazda Probe. I love the car but it is the most "Impossible Car" to work on. I also have a Pontiac 87 Fiero Gt. Have I said I love Subaru yet?
  13. I've worked on tons of cars. You name it, I've changed something on it. I'm just very impressed with the fact that the car was designed to work on easily. USMB! Rocks! I plan on staying here for awhile.
