  1. Not my ad, just thought I'd pass this along... $45. http://secure.adpay.com/peninsula-daily-news/15665589/displaymobile.aspx?networkview=False&catid=6081&pcatid=Miscellaneous&procid=da04084e-a0a5-46b3-840d-50728694d34c&region=2152
  2. I also have an 86 GL-10 with the digidash and need to install a mechanical temp gauge. Got one from the parts store a while back but it had the wrong thread...
  3. Does it still have the sun visors? If yes, I might be interested.
  4. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent aftermarket temperature gauge for an '86 GL-10 EA82T? The digital gauge on the dash has been flickering on and off lately... also, where is the coolant temp sensor? I've heard varying places. Thanks!
  5. Yeah, they're different. The tstat housing on my car was cracked and I braised it back together, but I don't trust that it'll last forever... I'd love a "crack" at getting a new one!
  6. I would love to have the thermostat housing from the turbo SW. It would have to be shipped to me since I'm in WA though.
  7. I have a '86 GL-10 SW 4WD with an EA82T and digital dash display. I've always wondered about the reliability of the digital temp gauge... It seems to show temp spikes fairly often. Granted, as far as know, the temp sensor is original so that may be a problem. Also, it seems like it'll show a temp spike when I turn the heat on- Seems like the opposite should happen. Does running the heat somehow activate something in the A/C causing the motor to run hotter? Dumb question, but Subarus can be weird when you're only used to working on old '60s Fords! Thanks- R.
  8. I've heard the commercial on the radio a few times. It's funny how they say it's for American pride although it's a parade for a Japanese car...
  9. I have this exact same problem. There must be a way to take them apart and clean them up?
  10. Hi Quadam- would you be willing to ship it? I'd pay shipping from wherever you are! Just let me know...
  11. Thanks, but I tried looking up online sources including rockauto... No one seems to have the version I have, just the regular non-turbo/mpfi version...
  12. Anyone know where I can get a thermostat cover for a "86 GL-10 with MPFI? Mine is cracked from overtightening... Thanks.
  13. I think I read that somewhere- probably this forum... I gave it a good tune-up (new cap, rotor, plugs, fluids) when I got it. It's running well but I do realize that it's a 30 year old car. Is there an upgraded distributor available? Funny thing- this is the newest car I've ever owned! I used to restore and drive early '60s Falcons... Subarus are an entirely different beast- I have quite a bit of learning to do!
  14. Thanks. The speaker is aftermarket and can be removed fairly easily. The door locks/unlocks manually and with the switch but I'm assuming the previous owner disabled the door handles? He had a bunch of speakers in the back which are gone now... I'll try working on it this weekend as long as it's not raining- Thanks!
  15. Hi- I'm new to the forum. Recently got my first Subaru after wanting one since the '80/90s-- an '86 GL-10 Turbo 4WD Wagon. It's in great shape but has a few bugs I'm working out... It has a few leaks but I can figure those out just fine. BUT I can't seem to figure this one out: The rear driver's side door won't open. Not from the inside or outside. I think the outside handle is detached and the child lock is turned on. Is there any trick to getting it open? I don't think I can remove the inside panel without opening it... I *might* be able to remove the speaker on the lower right side of the inside panel and blindly reach my arm in, but that's probably a long shot. The rear passenger side door also won't open from the outside, but will open from the inside. Obviously this isn't a crucial problem but it's starting to bug me... Thanks- Roy.
