  1. All it tells me is 1800 4wd and subaru?? nothing about GL or DL..
  2. the centre console is that old and ************ i cant't tell if it ever had a sticker. i can select 4wd but it feels like i can go further so i was hoping somewhere in the chassis number it would tell u?
  3. Does anyone know where i would find some sort of markings to tell me if i have a hi/lo transfer box in my 84 wagon?
  4. As a mechanic i would personal be takin the motor as well due to that the gearbox is hard to pull down due to the shape and placment of things in the tunnel. from past experences the motr is the most time consuming but its a hell of alot easier then trying to get the box out.
  5. But not all the time u will require one but yes i would personal do one myself.
  6. Auto or manual????????????? Manual has a clutch AUTO HAVE A TOURQUE COVERTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I had the same prob and could get it to operate so i just change it back to stop all the problems and spending time on it.
  8. The only way u will be able to do it is to make sure all the hoses and wire r the right connectors and lengths and the pumps r very simular.
  9. Hey mate I live in aus but i can still help ya. All ya need is a auto shop or a subaru dealer and ask 4 one. It should come with a throw out bearing pressure plate and clutch disc. U will have to remove the gearbox or even maybe the engine (depending on wat u wanna do) And then u will see the clutch assembly. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY B4 U START. If ya need any other help post a reply or email me @ Cams_scrutineer@hotmail.com
  10. I had the same prob and it was the brake light switch. it cost me about $15 australian.
  11. yeah it is a bolt on/off. no u r'nt wasting your time coz if it is leaking u will have to pull the motor or box back out.
  12. U will have two seals on is the Rear Main seal which is placed around the crank behind the clutch, and a seal place inside the snout of the gearbox (snout is where the clutch bearing runs). Most probally it will be your rear main seal... But u will have to look more at the seals and I would do both while u r there.
  13. HI Guys and Gals, I have an 84 EA81 Wagon and i am gonna be different and lower it not raise it but i have used all the adjustment on the front and on the diff but i makes a little difference but i still wanna go lower. Without cutting the springs has anyone got any ideas 4 me or has a set of lowered springs they wanna sell?
  14. Most times there are 2 relays one for low beam and 1 for high beam.
