  1. thank you very much for all the answers .... no it doesn't fit I learned the hard way
  2. the JDM WRX mtx from 2001-2004 had a rear Torsen mechanical LSD unlike the USDM VLSD they were also 4.44
  3. basically: can I install a phase II version 1 valve body in a later model transmission that has a version II valve body ? long story short I swapped last week a JDM WRX Sportshift 4eat that came with the new Gray B11 connector into a 2001 outback that use the older black B11 connector and nothing works properly because the black B11 and the gray B11 have a completely different pinout, the TCM can't talk to the solenoids and sensors I want to swap the valve body and the black B11 harness of my 2001 OEM transmission into the new one to finally get my car back on the road after almost 2 months I don't care for loosing the sportshift feature for future upgrade
  4. after reading your message and reading a service manual found online you are right it's a plate with Oring on the back and a banjo and you are right also about the H6 the catalytic converter is right there my last concern is the C solenoid for locking the center diff , does it work like a 2000-2003 outback or in reverse like the 2004 and up but this I could easily fix with a small electronic circuit
  5. I'm the owner of an Outback 2001 H6 with a defective transmission I bought on Ebay from a JDM shop in NYC a JDM Lancaster H6 transmission I'm in Canada in Montreal I had the transmission shipped to a warehouse in USA next to the border where we picked it up once back in Montreal, after paying importation duties and sale taxes, I found out that the transmission is not the right one The shop sent me a JDM WRX NB 4eat I was not happy and i'm dealing with the shop for that both transmission are 4.11 final and VTD the WRX one has the Sport Shift valve body the Lancaster probably has the same valve body as mine I know the transmission will bolt to my engine and my car my main concern is the filter, mine beeing an H6 it has a remote filter and somekind of plug on the side of the transmission like on the attached pictures now the question for which I can't find an answer is Can I removed this plug and use it on the WRX transmission to replace the filter or not ? returning the transmission will be a major PITA and the shop offered me a full refund if the transmission could be use as is
  6. after hours of searching on google I found my answer 2003 legacy GT = 3 x 24 pins connectors with many empty pins 2001 outback = 2 x 24 pins connectors with a few empty pins I need to get the exact pinout of both cars rewiring is possible and beeing an electronic technician I'm used to play with wires .... legacy gt also has the same final drive
  7. I'm the owner of a 2001 Outback H6, the canadian edition which is close to a LL Bean in the USA, so it's not a VDC next week i'm doing a transmission swap with a JDM VTD transmission from a Lancaster H6 not that I was looking into it but my front differential is broken and I had a nice deal on Ebay on the tranny, compared to what I would pay in a canadian yard for overused canadian one, even a plain MPT for the moment i'm just planning to use the 10 amp fuse in the FWD slut in the fuse box so the VTD transmission stay in 45-55 fixed mode plus adding a manual switch for a Center diff lock on demand in trying to know if a TCM from a 2003 would be compatible with the harness and communication bus of my 2001, even if I had to move a few wires around ? My idea would be to get the TCM from a Legacy GT 2003 which also came with the VTD transmission so I could have the full VTD mode enabled
