  1. Well... don´t know about SubiNoobie... In my case.. I had a few surprises... My impreza is an ej16, and it happened to be a lot different as the ej18. Same engine plugs, same tps, same maf, different ecu, diffetent intake manifold, smaller throttle body. I have now in my garage, the complete ej16, the complete ej22, and some parts of an ej18, like intake manifold, injectors, harness... I finally decided to go with all of the ej22 stuff. I´m right in the middle of the process now, and having no fear anymore to the wiring... Also researching on piggybacks to fit one for the fuel management (because of the turbo). I think i would go with the apexi safc neo
  2. so, what happend? did you do it? how many hps did you reach?
  3. wow, dind´t sound so ridiculous in my head, I guess the translation came out really funny. Frankenmotor sounds great, but its no easy to find the parts here, and everything is too expensive. Just a timing belt kit costs around 800 usd. I´ve was planning to turbocharge my car and just happend to got a great deal on the ej22, so I went with the swap. Yesterday I looked into both manifolds, and like you explained it fits, but I saw that the throttle body´s "gate" is a lot smaller, and I don´t like to have that kind of funnel. So I guess I´m screwed and my only choice left is to get along with all the wires mess. Also found this tutorial: http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=136053 that gave me some hope.
  4. I just want to get it running asap, lol. Do the harness cables under the dash of the ej18 plug into the ej22? Because that would be great... engine swap, ecu swap, and no need to strip the whole car.
  5. Another question. If I go with the "changing the manifold" option... Should I also have to change the injectors? I´d like to keep the big ones because of the boost
  6. Both the impreza and the legacy are EFI, but the guy who sold me the legacy drives an ej18 legacy that came with dist. and carb.
  7. Hello! I´m new here. I´m from Argetina, so my english may come a little rusty. Currently own an 1994 2wd Impreza, and a 1992 legacy. Now in the middle of swapping the ej22 into the impreza and turbocharging it. Any help would come great, because is not very common to do that kind of stuff here. Thank you! This is the impreza with the ej16:
  8. Hello, I´m kind of in the same project here... but I also would turbocharge the ej22 after the swap. In that case, would it be better to use to swap the ej22 ecu into the impreza?, would it do a better job managing the air pressure or the fuel?... or it doesn´t really matters... just thinking about 5 or 6 psi of boost with stock internals. I´ve seen the wires and there are a lot... Is it possible to connect the ej22 ecu, and just add the missing wires, for the maf, tps, and missing sensors?
