  1. OK so I've been looking for a while (weeks) to find the stock shock lengths for my 79 Brat. I've got a 6 inch lift for it and I'll need 6in longer rear shocks. Hard to find 6 inch longer when no one carries the oem ones or can tell me the lengths. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
  2. I'm currently rebuilding an EA71 1979 Brat, came across the measurements for the cam gear/thrust plate/cam. Book (HTKYSA) says clearance should "be between .0008" (.020mm) and .035" (.090mm)." .035" is equivalent to .889mm. Corrected should read at .0035" (.090mm). Max allowable is .008" (.2mm) anything over .004" (.1mm) might cause "knock" at low engine RPM.
  3. Title says it. Doesn't have to be ITM, but I'm really wanting a new one. I have used ones, but I found a NOS crank gear, and want the matching cam gear for the resto on my 79 Brat. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. I've been scouring the inter webs for about a month now to no avail.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to make sure I could pull it without any issuses.
  5. Ok, so I'm new to the old(er) Subarus. I've got an 07 WRX that I'm building for road racing, and an 06 STi that I'm doing a custom project build on. Subie in question is a recently aquired 1979 Brat. I got a great (?) deal on, essentially traded parts off the STi for it. Previous owner didn't have it long, maybe a month, but a trusted friend. I was told that it smoked pretty bad and just needed some head gaskets. Well both heads were cracked between ALL valves on ALL cylinders. I sourced a good set of heads for cheap so +1 there. My question is, I can't get the air injection tubing off the old heads. Well, I can, but I feel like I'm probably going to tear them up doing so. How bad would it be if I just plugged the holes in the new heads? If it's not going to effect the overall performance (using the term lightly haha) what all needs to be dealt with when removing the air injection stuff? Thanks in advance. I've been looking and can't find much of what I'm looking for. Fwiw- I live in Oklahoma and emissions aren't an issues. Anything else to remove while I'm at it? I plan on completely rebuilding the EA71.
