  1. I didn't think the power would be great I have the dual range but I'll probably do the 2" with some 14" rims thanks for the reply
  2. alexbuoy how is your power in town driving this is going to be a in town/woods wagon
  3. I'm just thinking body lift I'm going to get one of kits eventually I was just trying to get something for now it's an 85 gl wagon ea82 i looked at the front coils but I can't tell if they are adjustable thank you
  4. Hey I'm thinking about ways to lift my wagon 2 or 3 inches I read you can tighten a nut or something on the springs is this true or do I need to get spacers
  5. I reread your link the one I read wasn't that long I booked marked it thank you again that covered literally every question anyone could ever have
  6. Thanks man I love it when you reply to posts you always explain everything perfectly I already read that link I bought the carb from someone on here and they sent the manifold with it. It has the 2 piece adapter plate but oh well I'll run it the cooling port was welded already so that was nice when I redid the carb it had 16s for the secondary and 17s for primary jets does that sound right he was running it on a ea81 with a ea82 intake manifold
  7. There are 2 vacuum lines on the distributor do I need to plug one and plug the other one to the port on the bottom of the carb or do they both plug into somewhere and if I need to plug one witch one gets plugged thank you
  8. Are spfi and carbed pressure plates the same
  9. Looking for a Weber 32/36 does anyone have one they are selling and a ea82 adapter plate please and thank you
  10. Thank you for the input the harness was cut rewired it and sorry to the soup nazi guy it is very irritating when you are this far in on an engine you are not familiar with and one connection is the only thing holding you back thank you to all the people that helped
  11. The sensor there on my car has 2 Prongs in an L shape and there is already a connector on that sensor the plug for my electric fan has 2 prongs inline
  12. All I need is for someone to take the time to take a picture of where the electric fan connector is IV never had any luck on this site I know it should be obvious where it goes but iv searched and I can't find it 1985 ea82 gl wagon 1.8 ohc non turbo 4*4 I don't know how to make it any simpler all I need is ONE picture if that is not to much to ask
  13. Do a leak down test take the plug out get a hand pump with a gauge and pump some air in there and see if it holds air you can rent the tool from any auto parts store for free if it holds air turn the crank with a bar and see if air comes out the carb or throttle body on the intake stroke and do it again and see if it goes out the exhaust on the exhaust stroke and see if it holds air on the compression stroke
  14. Is the tick the only reason you think it's not giving fuel to 3 unhook the coil and.crank it a good few times and pull the plug and see if it's dry
  15. Have you done a compression test or a leak down test if the cylinder holds pressure and releases pressure as you turn the crank I would say valves are good the tick might be a wrist pin or a rod bearing as far as we know if the ticking stops when you pull the plugs that sounds like piston slap to me do a leak down test
  16. Probably the carb since you replaced pretty much the entire ignition system is there fuel coming through the line and even if the screws are set right doesn't mean the jets aren't clogged think of a stuffy nose even when you pick the smallest bugger it can make you breathe allot better

  18. Thanks for the help man. It was the clutch pulled it last night and swapped out that what I get for being in a rush and taking the easy way
  19. No idea it's a junk yard engine I know the transmission worked I'll adjust the clutch tonight I just thought the inside diameter of the clutch might be bigger on the spfi then the input shaft on my old transmission pulling these engines is easy but it would still suck to have to do it again who knows the clutch could be toast and that's why it went to the junk yard there is 0 resistance in any gear turning the crank with a bar
  20. No IV never had to adjust a clutch on an engine swap before but this is my first time on a Subaru I usually swap clutch and pressure plate though but these are spendy
  21. I'm swapping engines not transmitions so the axles shouldn't matter I bolted the engine to the trany but now when I turn the crank in gear it just turns won't try to turn the axles I know I should have changed the clutch while I had it out but I didn't have the cash I left the clutch and pressure plate that was already on the new spfi
  22. Swapping 85 ea82 carbed 4*4 with a 90 ea82 spfi don't know what model or if it was 4*4 do I need to swap clutch and pressure plate
  23. silverhelme thank you I'm not going for a big power upgrade just wondering what the Healther block out of the 2 would be they were both the same price just the spfi was 85 miles closer they were both Close to even compression on all 4 I went spfi just Because it was closer and yes I put the carb intake and distributor on it
  24. There are 2 engines one is a carb 165lbs compression other is spfi 150 lbs compression the I know the spfi has a higher compression ratio but would the carb make more power anyway since it has more compression mine is carbed I'm swapping manifolds if I go with the spfi
