Passionate about Subaru, had several STI's / WRX's at this point. Got started in Rallycross in a 2013 STI Hatch, thinking of EJ swapping the RX though that may be blasphemy since it is almost all original and has only 90K miles on it.

  1. I did manage to figure them all out for the most part I, now I'm having trouble figuring out a coolant line location. I started to fill the radiatior with water and it started leaking from the driver's side head bottom rear. There's a good sized threaded hole where it's coming from directly above the driver's side motor mount (see pictures). Is this just supposed to be plugged or does it go somewhere? This is an 87 RX-Turbo. https://photos.app.goo.gl/s5KL2epDoAeZJQ9w9
  2. Hello! I am having some trouble figuring out the routing for all the vacuum lines on my RX-Turbo. I'm about 90% done and just have a few questions about where these hoses route too. Also... Where does this ground bolt go. Also also, what goes to this nipple. https://photos.app.goo.gl/RbfbN4NUNALwBFsV7
  3. Jono: Definitely my first EA82, let alone EA82T. That and the knock sensor. Same thing happens with the EJ's though... :'( Dave T: Great write up! Thanks for the info, definitely will be referencing this.
  4. Haha yeah, it surprised me too, as I usually break these every time I pull a motor.... It's like a curse. To be fair though, the car only has 89K miles on it. Not a bad buy for $250 because it needed a "head gasket." Turns out someone snapped the intake mani bolt by the coolant passage. I pulled the motor, tore it down, cleaned it, (repeat that last step like 15 times), and am reassembling it now to put it back in.
  5. Sorry about that! It's an '87 RX-Turbo. It's the non vented cap. Pictures in the link below of the removed solenoid. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8iYph4JTwsPrGXyV9 I think it's the EGR Solenoid, but not 100% certain of it. I ordered the Hitachi one from Amazon, but now have to swap the plugs correctly.
  6. Hey guys! Just need a little help identifying a solenoid to order a replacement. I can't tell if it's the egr solenoid or the purge or what to find a part number. https://photos.app.goo.gl/L7jeCYzfY1yRFPEF9 Couldn't figure out to upload photos, so there's a Google album with the pics. My big confusion is that the connector for it is different than the one that pulls up. A part number would be awesome as I broke the plastic valve.
