  1. Update: The car is in a shop and it's not the dissy. The likely culprit is the ignition module. I scavenged one off of the neighbour's cars and dropped it off. Finger's crossed....
  2. superoo- Sir, many thanks for your offer. I just had it towed this morning to a mate with a repair shop and it's now in his capable hands. Even though I couldn't get it running, I'm intrigued by the engineering of these little beasts. One of the neighbour's Brat's may find it's way into my shop for my own project. I may become a regular here.... Again, I appreciate the offer, but I'll have to pass for now (wish you saw my forum post earlier). You are a good lad. Rust- Sir, he has several of the fancy ones (XT Turbo?) all, of course, in non-running condition. He has three early ones (1950s?) that have the tiny two-stroke engine in the back. There are several Brats and a score of random wagons. PS-put an 'e' in the 'Breath' of your avatar...
  3. Hello all. Thank you for allowing me to join. In short, I'm hoping I can connect with a trusted member here that I can purchase a sound used distributor. The short story: My wonderful yet older and not financially sound neighbour has a 'thing' for Subarus. Only one runs presently, but he does have over 20 in various stages of decomposition and or hopeful rejuvenation. His eyesight is failing so working on them presents problems for him. I spent most of the day on one of them, in an attempt to get it running. I've been able to work out that the distributor has failed. Car details: 1979 Subaru Brat with a breakerless ignition. I'm unsure of anything that is OE with this car...he is a bit of a nutter and ''customized'' it over the years.... Item needed: A sound distributor with a functioning breakerless ignition. The lead to the ignition module wires is a plastic connect fit with two leads. A new dissy will cost 160 dollars. I'm hoping to source one here. I live in Eastern Washington State. Thank you in advance M
