  1. Has anybody done it and what tips can you give me to make life easier? I’ll post it up here as I go
  2. I have found where to get them but I can’t figure out which ones to get is there a part number for phase 2 2.5
  3. I had that problem with mine and it turned out to be a bad ground to the engine but my car wouldn’t start, it would turn over. But the moment you turned the ignition off the fuel pump came on and a whole bunch of other things
  4. So I put a engine in a car for my sister, and after firing it off it got the normal white smoke on initial start off and burnt it out like I normality do. but after sitting a couple of days I go to fire it off again and I get the smoke (what I thought was steam) figuring a head gasket failed, I pulled the engine and the heads to my surprise it’s a bit of oil in the cylinders. I pulled the pistons out and the oil rings are not springing out like they should ( I can slide the piston back in up to the second compression ring) so my question is: can I clean the pistons up or do I need to get a new ring set... and if I do what is the best inexpensive set out there I’m having to do this on a budget.
  5. Thanks for all the info. Found a bearing press kit on amazon plus a slide hammer went out and back in really easy had to heat up the outer race to get it off
  6. Are there any kits out there that will press in and out on a early 90s legacy with out having to pull the spindles out and taking them somewhere?
  7. Oh yes that was the first thing I checked I know it has a slow leak in the trans but the fluid was full. And the code it has thrown is the p0066 air injection voltage low
  8. after solving the knock sensor issue with the last post I made, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/164225-intermittent-loss-of-power/?do=findComment&comment=1364460, it is losing power differently this time . my wife has been driving it and it would never fault on me until one late night making a run to the store, i was driving up a fairly steep hill and going up at about 40 it held there for around 5-6 seconds and like a switch it comes alive and takes off up the hill. i kinda have an idea where to look but could use some input it also occasionally dies on start up but you fire it up again and is just fine
  9. i need to replace the wheel bearings in my 93 legacy wagon, and it was suggested to me to replace the entire spindle being it's pressed in my question is if anybody know what other scoobs share the same parts?
