  1. In search of good home for a FREE Nearly Complete EA-81 Engine, Missing distributor drive gear on the end of the crankshaft. Disassembled just enough to split the block and remove the gear. Also need 1 or 2 13inch White Spoke Wheels for my 86 BRAT. Can pick up in Colorado, USA
  2. While I'm on my laptop, I have just discovered the left front hub splines and axle shaft splines are nearly stripped out. I know the hub is the same for 1985 - 89 BRAT and Hatchback (3dr). Part number is 7236 10051, Hub Compl F. It's Sunday, so I can't check with my local Subaru Dealer, or the greatest Subaru only repair shop on the planet, Superupair of Boulder, CO, USA. Anyone know if I have a snowballs chance of finding one, or two?
  3. I haven't called to check if the clip is still available, but they're impressed when you already have the part number. 7910 17090 clip, side protector. Good Luck. P.S. The part number for the parts manual is ABM6-09U, 1600 & 1800 2D & MPV, PARTS CATALOG, 85 - 89. Huge help working on my 86 BRAT, as well as getting parts.
  4. Looking around Colorado for 1 13x5 white 8 spoke wheel for my 86 BRAT. Needed for a full size spare. Doesn't need to be pretty, just serviceable. Thanks
  5. All good advice! Consider a complete rebuild if possible. Could still have 200k left on it. Btw, have a nearly complete EA81 free to next user. Located in Colorado
  6. White Spokes Uber Alles!!! The others look like most other cars of the same vintage and genre.
  7. The distributor problem described begs the question. Is there an aftermarket disty that is an even exchange for the stock Hitachi ? Don't need racing or high performance, just reliability
  8. Love a copy. Don't know how you're going to share it. I would be willing to send you blank flash drive(s). Plus something for your time and mailing. Let me know if you want to try it. Thanks
  9. Thanks so much. All the replies about the Weber swap and the difficulty (for me) of building SPFI has lead me to my happy place. I will be ordering the 32/36 carb, adaptor plate and short filter tonight. This has been a dream of mine to upgrade, and with the tips and tricks from all of you, I shall not fail. Hope I have enough cash left for the winch.
  10. Amazing! Something I don't need to fix! At 250K miles, the left front sway bar bushing is the only one showing any wear, and only slight. Groovy
  11. Great info, Making me want go look at the bushs on my 86 BRAT. Already dark here in Colorado, USA. Won't stop me, got a flashlight in my pocket all the time.
  12. The Hitachi carb on my 86 EA81 BRAT has worn out. Sucking air in around the throttle shaft. Probably doing a convert to Weber 32/36 kit. However, is there such a thing as a kit to convert to Single Point Fuel Injection? Has anyone tried it? Also, anyone know the safest place to buy the Weber kit. Probably Weber
  13. Is there a source for any new or used parts for an old Hitachi DCP306-24? Rebuilding the carb on my 86 BRAT and broke the wire off of the solenoid , duh. If I can not replace it, can it be bypassed or otherwise overcome? Thanks much. Also, I have a Nearly Complete 1985 EA81 short block to unload cheap or free, in Colorado, USA. No Distributor Drive Gear
  14. Tried the part # you sent me. Dealer says "no longer available". Number is the same as the parts manual has. Still Looking
  15. I have the Subaru parts manual but the number must have changed. Thanks, will try Monday
