  1. That would solve the low aim. I'll have to look into that. Thanks
  2. I got a free trial period of Starlink. I can't find much in it that I care about. I sure don't want to listen to Howard Stern. But, since it came included, I was just wondering what is left if I turn it off. Do I still have a FM/AM radio. Can I still play CD's? There is nothing in the apps that I need or want. Does my hands free phone still work? Starlink lists 8 ways to make a phone call. Who needs it? It's confusing. I wonder how many cars run off the road trying to make a call with Starlink? Is there a way to just turn it off for a while so I can see the difference? Do I really need a program that take 224 pages to explain how to use it?
  3. I can't seem to edit the last post, so..... but it doesn't look like it.
  4. I just checked...YES. I wasn't sure, but they did look like good lights. I put LED's in the fog lights. Now if I could only aim them , but is 't look like it.
  5. Well OK guys, I'll stick with the OEM headlights. BUT, I was thinking of uping the Fog lights. But then, I wanted to be able to raise the beams up, for rural and out back driving. There are no articles on doing that. With a jeep, I'd just add some lights on the roof rack.
  6. Does the light come on when you just get into the car or on the road or when stopped? Around 4000 is the best place in the power curve. Not going that high, is just putting more strain on the engine and you are starting up slowly. If you like keeping it under 3000, stay in the slow lane or get out of my way.
  7. I was too gentle with the key. It needs a quick snap clockwise. I was doing it slowly and that didn't work. Some one from the serves desk came over to my house to help me out. So we got the doors open. We checked for burned out fuses but could not find on. So, I had to go to the dealers. They said it may take hours to fix. I called for a ride back home. As my ride drove into the dealers, the serves clerk came running out to tell me it's fixed. And yes, it was a burned out fuse that we could not see on first inspection. All is well. It's a wasted day if you don't learn anything and this was not one of those days.
  8. I can't get into the car. I'm trying to get the hood open from the outside and not doing too well. Can't get any diagrams.
  9. Thanks. Now I have to figure out how to open the hood.
  10. I put an LED 31mm bulb into one of the maps lights. It didn't work. Nothing worked. The other map light, the dome light and the cargo light, don't work . Replaced the LED with the OEM bulb. Still nothing works. The keyless fob doesn't work. I can't unlock the car. None of the charts I could download show me where the fuse might be. HELP!
  11. Looking into this, I found something curious. The new XV headlights seem impossible to get to. I have not found even 1 place that gives any information on installing or replacing the headlight bulbs. The manual shows a different set up then mine and suggests they are difficult to replace and I should go to the dealers. That is odd. If you have a XV limited '18, take a look and let us know what you think. So the manufacturer has turned a cheap replacement of a burned out bulb, into a very expensive dealer only repair. I was looking as another video that was supposed to be a '18 XV, but the set up was entirely different. I have the limited, if that makes a difference. I'll have to stop into the dealers and take a look. Right now I'm thinking of removing the whole headlight assembly to get to the bulbs.
  12. Does anyone have suggestions for brighter, replacement headlight bulbs. LED, I guess. Diode Dynamics have a set of 2 for $150. That seems high. I tried looking around but don't know enough to make a choice. It's sort of like reading a phone book with all the numbers. Thanks
  13. I'm amazed by the new, complicated, unneeded programs. Eyesight, is useful, so I'll stick with it and learn. Starlink has probably dozens of apps and I can use about 6 at the most. You have to have your cell phone plugged in to run it. Lots of duplications, and this is where I got the problem. The included Starlink App is the main source of most other apps. It as suggested to me to try Android Auto too. Well, it seems they were not working together. I wanted to remove on of the apps. I figured it would be Android Auto. I punched icons all over the place. Nothing. Found a video of a Ford version and deleting a program was shown. Unfortunately if didn't work the same way as in the Crosstrek. But it helped. I think I removed most of Android Auto except the logo. This is a long shot, but has anyone else been playing with these new apps?
  14. From the big bend in Florida. I've tried some other sites but they don't look as good as this one. I had a Forrester and just bought the Crosstrek. Starlink and Eyesight are driving me crazy. Well, a little putt could do that. Hundreds of pages of manuals without answers. Some of the answers on the forum leave me more confused. But, I like a challenge. My first car was a 1949 Ford coupe. Flathead 6. I had one of the first SAABs that came into the country. 2 cycle, add oil to the gas tank with each fill-up. I'm at the point in life that when I read a page in the manual and turn to the next page, I've forgotten the last one. But, I like challenges. I love the way the Crosstrek handles, all the way to 100MPH. Glad to be here. Thanks
