  1. Thanks. I’ve got a PCV valve ordered and will start there and if it continues it looks like I’ve got rings to replace then.
  2. Question for all you out there with the Subaru EJ22. I have one out of a 1995 Legacy installed in a 1999 Forester...yes it wasn’t easy but it worked. My question is i have installed new head gaskets, valve stem seals and rear main seal. The rings looked good and my cylinder walls didn’t have gouges. The engine runs strong but I notice that it smokes blue smoke on every cold start. After about a mile of driving it goes away. With no external oils leaks I’m burning about a qt of oil every tank of gas. Oil looks good. Could this just be PCV valve? Or do I have rings that are glazed? Not looking at rebuilding it again. If the PCV do you recommend a catch can oil separator? Or better system than the stock 95 setup?
  3. No check engine lights but I think it’s not pulling fuel from the drivers side. I’ll pull the pump and check the siphon action. Going to be doing a tune up this weekend and likely it’s nit pulling fuel from the driver’s side. Thanks.
  4. Okay I have a 1995 Legacy L Wagon. My question is are the fuel gauges on Subaru's not accurate? My owners manual says I should have a 15 gal tank. When I first got the car the previous owner told me not to let is get close to E. So the first full tank down to little less than 1/4 I filled it up and only got 8 gals in the tank. So knowing I average 21mpg I reset my trip and would drive to 280 miles as that should still leave me gas in the tank. Well today I'm driving around and the gas gauge is below 1/4 but above E and I've got about 265 miles on the trip...well the car slows down and dies. Can't restart. Ran it out of fuel. Is my gauge wrong or do I only have a 10gal tank?
  5. That is awesome. I have a 95 Legacy L Wagon with shot struts and have been wanting to lift it. Now I know what to do. Sweet.
  6. Just picked up a 1995 Legacy Wagon with the 2.2 engine. Looks like the previous owner caught he lower radiator hose and overheated it and now the head gaskets are shot. Puffs white smokes and overheats. Question is this is my first head gasket job on a Subaru. How hard are they. Is it best to just pull the engine. Thanks. Any upgrades to do while I’ve got it out?
