  1. I found the other place. Ebay user POWERCALL. Here is a link to a common Subaru replacement case: REMOTE CASE Very nice to do business with. He ships promptly and will sell outside of eBay. He includes a battery with the case. ~Howard
  2. Here is a link for a place that just sells the CASES. You remove the electronics from the old remote and put them into the new case. NO REPROGRAMMING NEEDED! Not that reprogramming is any big deal but it makes life simple. CASES I had another link for a place that was a bit cheaper and included a battery but I can't find it. ~Howard
  3. I had no problems here in Philly yesterday after our 12" with my Forester. The only slight problem I had were with my tires. I am using Bridgestone Turanza LST tires. Up to now they have been fine in the snow. But yesterday they had small problems on unplowed streets. The tires seemed to "ice over" and loose most of their grip. Next fall I am going to investigate winter tires for the Forester. Storage seems to be my main problem but we're moving to a larger house shortly and I might put up a shed for tires and a snow blower. ~Howard
  4. Try searching BULB REPLACEMENT. I found one match but there are others. BULB REPLACEMENT ~Howard
  5. I have a 2000 Forester L WITHOUT a limited slip differental which was only available on the S model. Is it possible to have this installed and replace the current differental ? Cost ? ~Howard
  6. How about changing the ATF again and put on a new filter this time. I'd also add some of this Lubegard. ~Howard
  7. Has anyone used Valvoline DuraBlend motor oil ? It's a synthetic blend motor. I have been thinking of using it in my 2000 Forester with 38K miles <5W30>. Any comments ? Thanks ! ~Howard
  8. I'd try some of that orange cleaner on a paper towel. I prefer the blue ones you can get at auto parts stores. I'd then use a Dobie Pad on the glass. Don't worry it will not scratch. It's made of nylon. Dobie pads are for washing dishes, etc and are available on the dish detergent aisle in the supermarket. Then wipe off the rest of the orange stuff with paper towel wet with some water. Then go over the glass with Stoner Invisible Glass. It's THE BEST auto glass cleaner out there. ~Howard
  9. When you change your fluid, give this additive a shot: LUBEGARD ~Howard
  10. Come to think of it I cleaned the hatch lock using PB Blaster. You should have seen all the gunk that came out. I then lubricated it with WD-40 and teflon spray. Once in a while I give the lock a shot of PB Blaster to keep it clean. PB BLASTER ~Howard
  11. Check the back hatch. I had a problem a few times with something being caught in the hatch door. I also had a problem with the hatch light. The light would come on and then go out as I raised the door. This problem was resolved by shooting in some WD-40 up into the hatch lock area. It was all gummed up. Maybe this solution would cure your problem too. ~Howard
  12. I found this one: Control Now a wiring diagram for the Forester would be nice. Ideas anyone ? ~Howard
  13. I've asked before. I thought maybe someone came up with a solution. The lack of an intermittent rear wiper on this vehicle just bugs me. I check the web site of Canadian Tire and I could not find the device you mentioned. Maybe it's just carried in the stores and not online. I also did some searching on eBay. Couldn't find anything there either. I think I'll just give up on this one. ~Howard
  14. Does anyone have a solution for adding an intermittent REAR wiper on a 2000 Forester L ? Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
  15. I would take them up on the deal when you have the cash. I once had a Chrysler with clearcoat paint. This was a 1987 when clearcoat had just come out. Some years later I had a problem with peeling paint all over the car. Chrysler would do NOTHING. They said it was happening only on my car. Yeah......I kept seeing cars on the street with the same problem. I had the entire car repainted at a cost of $800; totally out of my pocket. I think Subaru has given you a nice offer. Take them up on it ASAP ! The idea of getting a letter is a good one. ~Howard
  16. The last time I had my wife take her Toyota Camry into Jiffy Lube they managed to spill oil over the battery and battery tray. Needless to say I'm not using one of those places again. ~Howard
  17. Michelins are very good tires but imho I believe they are overpriced and overrated. There are tires just as good if not better than Michelins for far less money. ~Howard
  18. I'd take a look at the ratings and owners comments at Tirerack before you buy. LINK ~Howard
  19. Bridgestone Turanza LST or Firestone Affinty. These are very good all-season tires. ~Howard
  20. SORRY...........Pennsylvania law prohibits exporting these items out of state. You have to come here to eat one ! ~Howard GO EAGLES
