  1. I forgot to update this post, but about 3 weeks ago I removed the bolts holding the glass and rocked it out of place and was able to thread the nut onto the rod and got the door back together. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your help! What a thing!
  2. Hello USMB! Over the years you guys have given me so much. I thought I would offer to give a little something back! I have stacks of early 80s manuals and diagrams from the Subaru factory service manuals. As well as entire dealership part guides for 1980 1981 in 1982. Possibly some 1979. If you need a diagram, if you need a part number, if I can find it in my books I’ll get it for you! Just want to help like everyone else has helped me
  3. Thank you! This job is stressing me out. I pull engines, I don’t do window regulators.... and headliners/weatherstripping. *shudder*
  4. Can I lower the regulator without the glass attached? Will it undo anything or unalign anything?
  5. Thank you my friend! This is my plan! I appreciate your response. Thank you
  6. Per the description below, I need to remove the front door glass. How the heck do I do that???
  7. Went to open my door, and the door handle just moved freely like it wasn’t connected to anything. Found out the little rod had broken it’s nut off of the bottom and the mechanism kind of fell apart. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the rod back into the little hole. I see how it works. I have the doorhandle in my hand and the rod in my hand but I can not physically position my hand into the spot I need to to drop the plastic piece into the hole it needs to go into. Something else needs to come apart or something else needs to go together in a specific way for this to work. And I don’t know what that is. Does the window need to come out? Does the latch need to be disconnected? Has anyone replace their doorhandles and can tell me how to disassemble/reassemble this part? I am at my wits end. My shredded hand thanks you.
  8. So today my little rod broke off (the nut snapped) and now my outer door handle has nothing attached, leaving me to reach inside to open from the ...inside. I have since seen what I need to do, but having a hard time getting the rod back onto the door handle. Any disassembly instructions? I hope I don’t need to remove the glass. Thank you!
  9. So, with research (thank you USMB!) I found that I need this little rod. #4. Anyone have a spare? Thank you!
  10. You should be able to choose the file size when you go to upload. Choose a medium file and it'll drop the size by about 1/10. PM me for help, I wanna see those photos!
  11. Do you know where the main body grounds are? Or other most important ones that let go first?
  12. Hello! My ‘81 Brat GL 1800 has a vapor separator behind the passenger seat behind the bed panel. Mine is crumbling and is now fused together with epoxy. Hurray! I’m looking for a “new” one or I’m curious if there is part interchangeability with another car. It is listed as subaru part number “6420571001” or “642057100” Shown as Detail “O” in diagram. Thank you! My Brat thanks you. The environment thanks you!
  13. Curious! I randomly had my tach and gauges fail out in the morning. I took my fuse cover off, things looked good and put it back on. Gauges worked again, haven’t failed since. Was that maybe the same thing?
