  1. Hello Dee2, I don't know why but i didn't get a notification that you left a message. I agree with you. it does sound like an electrical problem. It's so tight under the hood that i don't know where to start yet. I've got myself a service manual and will be familiarising myself soon and hopefully get to the problem. Thanks. John
  2. I have a problem with my Brumby. I've had 5 competent mechanics look at the engine and none have been able to resolve the issue. During summer, if the engine is started from cold the engine will drive for minutes or hours without issues. However, when the engine has reached it's operating temperature and then the engine is turned off and then back on again, say minutes later (as one does when filling petrol etc. ) the engine will start to buck, that is it loses power and restores power every 5-10 seconds. Fuel lines have been checked, fuel filters changed all to no avail, which makes sense as the car drives normally from cold. Has anyone experienced such a problem or knows what the problem may be?
  3. Hi Moosens, Thanks for your speedy and informative reply. The throttle does not surge when the car drives from cold. But i'm not sure if it would be surging when i've restarted the engine from warm/hot. I'll check it out. You may be on the right track. Interestingly enough during cold weather the bucking does not appear and is certainly worse during the heat of summer. Do you see any connection here? I will take a look at the ASV and see if anything requires repairing and if it is related to my issue. A very good tip. Thank you.
  4. I have a 1992 Brumby with the EA81 engine and it has always been serviced and runs well. However, recently it has a developed a problem that when it is restarted from warm/hot the engine will buck continuously. When the engine cools down or is started from cold you can drive all day without the engine bucking. As soon as the engine is stopped and re-started the engine will begin bucking. I have taken this vehicle to 5 different mechanics - all good - and none have been able to work out the problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening? Any ideas are fully appreciated. John
