  1. Yep. It's one of the most rare factory outback colors. Sydney Blue Pearl.
  2. Not to dig up an old topic, but I just installed some Hella 500's on my Legacy in a similar location, and the light output is fantastic. Hopefully this will keep me from hitting more deer!
  3. Enjoy the car, Chris. I hope she treats you as well as she has me. Mike
  4. I would rather have my svx than that Esprit or ANY car you name. I've been through this woth some of my non-svx nut friends. There is no car I would rather have. Mike PS- That Esprit was designed by the same firm that designed the svx.
  5. Here's a MP3 of the song. It's named with what it is. http://www.subarusvx.org/file_sharing/DjTiesto-LettheLightShinein.mp3 Mike
  6. I would NEVER sell my svx. It's the love of my life! It had always been my dream car, and I was finally able to get it about 4 years ago. There is no car on the planet I would rather have. Mike
  7. Here's a little video we made on friday night with my RX and SVX, and my buddies OBS. Enjoy!! http://www.subarusvx.org/vids/subiesnowfun.mov Mike
  8. Here are a couple of my RX. http://www.subarusvx.org/mike/P1010052.jpg http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Green1995SVX/12582.jpg Mike
  9. As others have said, SVX is an absolutely amazing touring car that many people dont realize it is. I think you have to drive one to truly appreciate its amazing road manners. The engine is matched my none in smoothless, reliablity, and OHHH that exhaust note. "Wait, when did i start driving a Porsche?" http://www.subarusvx.org/vids/rev.mov Mike
  10. Ben- I've had no overheating problems at all. I had the car serviced by Kerven Subaru about 2 weeks ago and they had indicated to me that the coolant level was low at that time (they added some). The thermostat housing looks good. The coolant appears to be originating somewhere at the rear right of the engine (turbo side), although it could be just running back there from somewhere else. The area around the coolant temp sensor is dry. Mike
  11. Be aware that the 94 L models are all FWD. Aside from the transmission and wheel bearings, just give the car an overall check to look for signs that it's been maintained properly. (no fluid leaks, proper fluid levels, clean fluids). SVX's can be fantastic cars if properly cared for. If you do get the car, follow the maintenece schedule!! Mike
  12. The RX Body kit should fit your Loyale, and you could probably find one at your local subaru salvage yard. They actually look pretty cool! Mike
  13. Yesterday I noticed some smoke coming from under the hood of my RX. I opened up the hood to check and see what was going on and I have coolant pooling up on top of the engine under the intake manifold. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Best, Mike
  14. I would love to know the answer to this. It gets annoying waiting - especially when I'm late for work. Mike
  15. It's probably your coolant temp sensor. Mine did the exact same thing till i replaced the coolant temp sensor about a week ago. Mike
  16. The eg33 in my svx is a simply amazing engine. Great power band, awesome smoothness and the thing just sings. Sounds like a porsche almost. If you were only talking about the 3.0, then I would say that is a great engine too. There isnt much acceleration difference beteen the 2.5 and the 3.0 in the outbacks, but you'll find it downshifting less and such when you're driving on the highway. It is easier to keep your speed without downshifting. The engine is smooth, although not as smooth as the svx motor. If i were to get an outback right now, I would, without a doubt, get the 6 cylinder model. Mike
  17. OK - I disconnected the temp sensor. That solved the problem. Although it was hard to start the first time once it was started it idles fine. I would imagine that means it's my temp sensor. Mike
  18. wow i feel like an idiot. Sorry that looks totally different from the knock sensors on my svx! back to the garage! Mike
  19. I removed the rear temp sensor and i think i have a major problem. Shouldnt there be a probe on the end of this sensor that goes into a coolant passage? I think it broke off and is stuck in the hole as I cant see through to any coolant passage and there is no probe on the sensor. What should I do now?
  20. where is the coolant temp sensor located on this engine? I think i see it in the back but im not sure if that's it. Mike
  21. if the engine is already hot, it starts perfectly. Mike
  22. The exhaust rattle is the primary muffler. You can replace the midpipe, or you could just cut out the primary muffler and put in a straight pipe. This will solve your issue. Also, there is no such thing as a "turbo" svx, unless someone added a turbo to it which is highly unlikely. (You might want to check under the hood.) Best, Mike
  23. Greetings all! First, let me introduce myself as this is my first post. My name is mike and i've recently purchased an 88 RX 3 door. I'm no stranger to subarus as i've owned an SVX for quite some time and I work for a subaru dealership. I've had my SVX for about 3.5 years and I'm a moderator over at the svx world network forum (http://www.subaru-svx.net). The RX I got was quite a find. I got it from the original owner and it came with all the service history and even the original window sticker! She took very good care of it and always garaged it! Anyway now I should get to my problem. The car starts right up and revs up as normal. Then after about 5 seconds the rpm's drop quickly, and the car stalls. This can be avoided by pressing the gas pedal. Once the car warms up (must hold the gas pedal down to keep the revs up for about 5 mins, very annoying) the car will idle just fine when you take your foot off the gas. You can drive the car normally then and there are no problems. Once the car sits long enough for the engine to again cool off, the problem returns. My original thought was that it could be the IAC. I removed the IAC valve and cleaned it out with carb cleaner per the advice of a tech at the dealer where I work. This had no effect on the problem. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks to all! Mike
