  1. This is what I'm going to use. It's a good size, price is right, and it's a bolt on. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=42611&item=2435564142
  2. Well, the phantom grip is a LSD conversion kit. It replaces the internals and turns your stock diff into an LSD. I have it on my Colt and it works awsome. It's great for offroad since it's more like a clutch type LSD in that is doesn't give a whole lot. Mantaray sells them for $279.95, and the 905 appears to fit our cars. Subaru HITACHI R160 (Open Rear Diff) (green spring upgrade not available) 905-GOLD $279.95 http://www.mmrusa.com/phantom1.htm I believe the front and rear diffs are similar enough internally that the kit should work.
  3. Just what I was hoping for. Thanks for the info.
  4. I hate asking noob questions, but again I didn't see anything in my searches. Is there a write-up somewhere on installing a turbo timer on EA82T cars? Is there a harness adapter available by any chance?
  5. If it's the CV's you'll only hear it as your turning. But that's what it sounds like.
  6. Not on a Suby, but another car. The hood didn't look like it appreciated it too much.
  7. 2.5" is perfect for our car. It's what I'm going with. Here's the general rule of thumb for displacement and exhaust pipe sizes for turbo motors. 1.0-1.4L - 2.0" 1.5-1.9L - 2.5" 2.0-3.0L - 3.0" For full race systems go .5" bigger.
  8. The cracked rubber part you see sounds like the upper strut mount, and should be replaced. It's just what the strut mounts to. To check if your struts need to be replaced, do the bounce test. Simply push down on your car and if it bounces up and down more than once, they're shot. Also check for residue build-up on the shock bodies themselves. It's signs of a leak and that they need to be replaced.
  9. I did some searching and couldn't find anything. Will any of the SS brake line kits for the newer Suby's fit the older cars, like my GL?
  10. The best thing I heard was to just drill about a 1-1.5" hole through it. It's just as effective, easier than gutting the whole thing, and won't disturb the airflow as much as an empty cat. Plus if it gets inspected and a cop decided to knock on it, it won't sound hollow.
  11. I'm not sure on the price yet. The site said to call. I imagine it will have only rubber bushings. There are probably some polys you can find to work. I think I'm going to get one of these and check it out. I'm just wondering if I should get the front also.
