the guy is selling it for that price because that is how much he put in to it. it was his kids that bought a different car and moved out. my neighbor/land lord knows the guy that is the two reasons he's selling it to me for thats price. also he was driving it up to 4 months ago then parked it. jim

ok here is the add, Selling my 1987 Subaru GL wagon because I am not mechanically inclined. However this is a great deal for anyone who is. This 4 dr hatchback has a strong 5 speed transmission; 180,000 miles; 4x4; new timing belt; new brakes; good tags til Nov. 2005. What it needs is a driver's side front haftshaft because it is locked in the 4x4 mode; engine needs to be timed and possibly a coil wire. The car can be driven as is but doesnt hold an idle very well. I was told it would take about $75 for parts and a decent mechanic about 2 hours to fix everything. would this be worth fixing? jim

i don't have one yet, but thinking about getting an ea82. i'm also in to custom trucks thats another reason i'm want a subaru so i can do a frame-up on it, and still be able to go on part runs, work, camping, and other stuff. that is why i'm here.
