  1. it will be lifted and daily driven, but wheeled on the weekends.
  2. the guy is selling it for that price because that is how much he put in to it. it was his kids that bought a different car and moved out. my neighbor/land lord knows the guy that is the two reasons he's selling it to me for thats price. also he was driving it up to 4 months ago then parked it. jim
  3. i think i found the soob i'm going to get, it a 87 gl 4wd 5spd dr. it needs a tune up, the carb adjusted, and some little stuff. the guy only wants $400 fot it. going to do a test drive monday or tuesday after work, and do some more looking around. Is there anything i should check? thanx for any info you guys can give and i'll keep y'all posted on how it goes. jim
  4. i have heared poeple put soobs in vanagon, but that is it. i'm a newbe so what do i know. jim
  5. ok in search of a soob and there is this one i found it's a 1987 SUBARU 4WD SPORT WAGON it's turbo and 4wd, it not FT or D/r it say its push button 4wd could someone enlighted on this? jim
  6. i was going to get a byb lift or the AA lift, but wanted some more lift and some travle. what about the front springs if i do the honda springs? and i don't want to hear which lift is better i can make that choice on my own. jim
  7. is there a way to swap in different springs to get lift or would there be camber issues/ problems? doing my reseach before i get a soob so i know what i want, but most like a ea82. any help would be great jim
  8. i plan on making mine when i get it, lifted and daily driven. jim
  9. the most i want to spend is 1500 on a soob, but i need to save some cash first i'm trying to do my research before hand.
  10. ok i'm going to be on the market for a 4wd sub here soon and would like to get opinions on which years are the best for offroading/daily driver or what to look for when buying a sub? yes i did a search did not find anything on this topic. any info would be great i'm a newb so please bear with me. thanx, jim
  11. i have to wait a bit, i start a new job monday.
  12. i'm not selling it, i was thinking about buying it (should've my that clear) and they want 175 for it. also i think i can fix it with some help maybe. thanx for the info. jim
  13. ok here is the add, Selling my 1987 Subaru GL wagon because I am not mechanically inclined. However this is a great deal for anyone who is. This 4 dr hatchback has a strong 5 speed transmission; 180,000 miles; 4x4; new timing belt; new brakes; good tags til Nov. 2005. What it needs is a driver's side front haftshaft because it is locked in the 4x4 mode; engine needs to be timed and possibly a coil wire. The car can be driven as is but doesnt hold an idle very well. I was told it would take about $75 for parts and a decent mechanic about 2 hours to fix everything. would this be worth fixing? jim
  14. i don't have one yet, but thinking about getting an ea82. i'm also in to custom trucks thats another reason i'm want a subaru so i can do a frame-up on it, and still be able to go on part runs, work, camping, and other stuff. that is why i'm here.
