  1. Very cool. I'll try and stop by. This is RIGHT behind Edrach's house. Hopefully he can bring out his cherry Brat for all to see.
  2. Could be a FPR starting to give up the ghost perhaps? Or a slight vac leak prior to the FPR. Next I'd look into injectors. Are they clean, still operating effeciently, etc.. After injectors I'd look at the "control circuit". Airflow meter, O2's, coolant sensor, etc... to see if an erroneous reading is skewing the amount of fuel injected.
  3. Here are some pics from one of their Mud Drags http://www.motorxsports.com/2010mp022PortTownsendMudToy4X4MudDrags.html We are not sure at this point if we will have it setup like this, or more of a traditional open area. I can tell you this mud pit will be more for lifted/older/more hardcore rigs than flat just for WRX type. WRX's are fun to watch go in circles, but they are also loud... One of a couple reasons why Skamania denied our mudpit request last year.
  4. How bad was it overheated before you did the HG's the first time? Check the block and head surfaces. I'd bet they aren't as flat as they should be.
  5. I would wire it so that if either the AC or the ECU fan is switch, its on Low speed. And if BOTH are switched at the same time, it hits to High.
  6. I've bought 2 different Speedglass helmets (1st one stolen when my garage got broken into). Awesome helmets. Here is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/3M-Speedglas-Welding-Auto-Darkening-07-0012-31BL/dp/B003TM0SDU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1332193650&sr=8-2 Would buy again in a heartbeat. I do mostly MIG, but have used it to watch/assist some TIG stuff. There is nothing better than new tools for your birthday. Jealous!
  7. Yes and no. When I lowered my first RX, it was with one of the generic coilover kits off ebay. Not great quality products, but I was young and learning. I used low mileage front wrx struts (did this in conjuction with a 5 lug swap). Those did not last long. In the back I used brand new GR2's. Those seemed to do great with the setup. I would try and focus on quality parts for something like this, and go easy on the spring rates... your kidneys will thank you later! I will also add I just put some of the GR2/excel G's on my wifes Forester XT with a set of Swift drop springs. Roughly 1.5" drop. I did a lot of research before buying this stuff, and the general consensus on the 'net was this was a solid setup, only to be outdone by bilstein or koni inserts. So, i felt pretty comfortable that the struts were up to the task of daily driving duty on a lowered spring.
  8. We've been out and looked at some sites. We are hashing out prices and dates... As soon as we have something confirmed, we'll announce it. Promise!
  9. It looks to me that your Forester is on WRX struts + Cobb lowering springs. WRX struts themselves are lower than stock forester stuff. I think you would be much happier with Forester struts and forester specific Swift or Sti lowering springs... This forester has stock forester struts and swift springs
  10. Its a bit north of you, but I've always used Bow Wow autoparts in Lynnwood.
  11. This is exactly what I thought too when I read his numbers. I know parts shops mix those up quite a bit.
  12. Excellent! I had this idea myself... I'm in for atleast 1
  13. Not a chance in hell... Thats why he's doing it
  14. I need to see this in person. Holler backat me!
  15. This is what good power looks and sounds like in a GL I can guarantee you he doesn't have an EA82T under the hood.
  16. The wiring harness between a Turbo Legacy, and a post OBDII Legacy are going to be different. They are MOSTLY the same, but do have differences. If given the option, use the one that directly matches the motor going in the car. Do not just slap a turbo on a NA 2.5 unless you have some ability to alter fuel/spark.
  17. He means don't poke the beast. Get over the issues and repost your pics. Some people like me are genuinely interested in what it looks like. Regardless of how much you paid for it, or how it was executed.
  18. I thing a fair trade for letting you sleep on my futon once a week would be to let me use the 12k pound winch to pull this up a tree! I would love to go get this dirty!
  19. I'd make 1/2" - 1" spacers for the strut tops, and call it done. You might go through CV's, but so what. Axles are cheap. You're a welder... fabricate something! Also, FYI... If RX springs will fit on a brat, there is no reason KING springs won't. They are both Gen3 fitment (EA82). And, brats don't have springs in back... but you can somewhat easily swap in EA82 rear coilovers instead of the shocks. And, run KING springs on the EA82 rear coilovers.
  20. Another thing you could do, if the driveshaft is closer than you'd like... Throw a couple of washers in between the trans mount and the body. Drop the whole tranny 1/16" to an 1/8".
  21. I took some 1" straping and bolted it through the existing holes at the back of the shifter hole. Yes, it is very close... but I had no problems.
