I've got a 2.5i wagon that now has just about 30k on it, always used 5w-30 here in Florida with no problems. It's a great workhorse.

All the '06's already have the most current reflash... You say your Spec-B has just over 1,000 miles? Give it to your first oil chamge (3,000 miles) and see if it has gone away...also make sure you are using at least 91 octane...higher if it's available near you.

I've got the Subaru OEM hitch for the '05/'06 Outback Wagon on my wife's Legacy 2.5i Wagon...it fits fine and the wiring connector is right where it should be... The hitch is P/N: L101SAG000, just tell the dealer it's for your "Outback"

Well I decided to go ahead and freshen the spare motor as it's been a few weeks and the coolant and oil in the original motor are pretty well mixed...I'd rather not take any chances. My spare motor has approx. 130k on it and came out of a car maintained at the local dealer for all of it's life, every Subaru recomended service was done. The car it was in was totalled in an accident but had no engine compartment intrusion. I started on it last weekend, got the following done on Saturday: Head Gaskets Intake Manifold Gaskets Valve Cover Gaskets & Grommets Right Rear Cam O-ring Rear seperator plate re-sealed Rear Main Seal Rear Wrist pin access cover o-ring Oil Fill O-ring Cam Seals Oil pump reseal Crank Seal Resealed Oil Pan Water Pump & Gasket Thermostat & Gasket Water Pump By-pass hose Spark plugs Oil Filter Crush Ring I'm waiting on a right rear timing cover (cracked) and one of the timing belt idler pulleys (noisey bearing) before I can get the timing belt and covers all installed and then it will be ready to drop in. Guess I'll start pulling the old one out this week to get it ready to go... ...I had forgotton how much fun engine work could be!

If the car originally came with 14" wheels you should get the rotors for the 14" wheels. If the tire size diameter changes it will affect your speedometer/odometer, larger diameter will make the speedometer/odometer read lower, if the diamter is smaller, your speedometer/odometer will read higher. But the change should be very negligible unless your making a radical tire size change.

We see that problem fairly often, it seems some cell phone chargers deform the outlets and cause a short. I'd unplug the 12v outlet harness and see if the fuse blows or not, if it doesn't you know the outlet is problem.

Do you use a cell phone charger in the 12v outlet that correlates to the fuse blowing?

+1 Typical Jiffy Lube service...

If you guys pull the plug wires off the coil are the coil contacts corroded....or not shiney...thinking you might have a coil going bad...

Bet your Forester doesn't anymore either. Seems that once a Subaru is overheated it weakens the head gaskets and sooner or later you'll need to do them...at least the seem easy enough to do on SOHC motors...

...and the winner is....Head Gasket(s)! I'm either going to install new Head Gaskets on this motor...or pull it out and install the "extra" 1.8L I have...probably take the same amount of time for either option... What do you guys think... Rebuild HG motor... Freshen "Spare" motor and install...
