  1. I've got Cobb Tuning's rear anti-sway bar on my 02 WRX-SW, counters that wagon roll well. I haven't done much else with the suspension, that's next on the list.
  2. They're kind of nestled behind a few office buildings. If you head North on Speen and go under the overpass for the Pike, it's on your left, after a brownish building. It's hard to remember what they didn't do. There was the timing belt on the Loyale, the heads on my sister's Legacy, all kinds of stuff on our 95 Legacy sedan. They've done the regular maintenance on my WRX. The main reasons I keep going back are they fix what's broken and do it right, they are wonderful to do business with, their attitude toward their customer's is remarkable. They're rates are reasonable, they shop around and charge less. They've also matched prices from subaruparts.com and the like. They have an extensive inventory of OE parts for older subies, which is how I got to know them in the first place.
  3. Hi Scott, I've been going to Speen Street Auto in Natick for about ten years. They're a good bunch of guys and they know their Subarus. I haven't dealt with the dealer in Natick under their new ownership, but my experiences with them have been less than mediocre at best. I've also had some bad experiences with Patrick in Shrewsbury. I've heard good things about Cityside in Arlington.
  4. TPH stands for "Turbo Parallel Hybrid" More info: http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/tokyo/0511_subaru_b5/ and here: http://www.japanesecarfans.com/news.cfm/newsid/2050928.009 Maybe when the nest is empty and a two-door is practical. Bring the hatchback back
  5. I've relied on Speen St Auto in Natick for the stuff I couldn't/wouldn't do myself for the past 10 years or so. They specialize in Subarus, and they are good people. Their number is 508-620-0005. I know it's not exactly close to you, but it may be worth your trip. They have loaners available for bigger services.
  6. I can answer a couple of your questions: Get a separate FM modulator, it'll put out a stronger signal and combat a lot of the interference. My WRX has a manual antenna, so I just keep it retracted. Who needs terrestrial radio? I'm fairly certain that your factory radio does not have any auxiliary inputs. I'd suggest checking out xm411.com or xmfan.com for a lot of useful installation tips and info. As far as taking your dash apart, subaruparts.com has all kinds of install guides available, the one for the subwoofer should have instructions for getting the HU out.
  7. I replaced the RE92's on my '02 WRX with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's +0'd to 225/50-16, which fit on the OE Alloy rims. I've got more than an inch of additional tread width, much better handling, and they make less noise (after break in). These are summer tires though, so you'd need another set for the winter.
  8. Go to one of the aftermarket parts sites that has instructions for accessory installation, and find the instructions for the subwoofer, like this: http://www.subaruparts.com/guides/subwoofer.pdf It shows you how to remove the factory HU. While your dashboard's contents are spewed, you should be able to get to the 12v outlet. I don't know off-hand which one of the wires back there is always on, nor if it has enough current to operate an accessory, but you can always do it the hard way and find a live wire with a multimeter, and play fuse bingo, or run a wire from the safe side of a fuse to your console. Be careful, the last thing you'd want is a Subarbecue-ru. Someone else probably has a good answer.
  9. Probably a cam angle sensor, that sounds close. This article may be of help: http://autorepair.about.com/library/ts/obd-i/bl-dtcs-78a.htm
  10. I've often though it would be cool if my 02 WRX Wagon had the same adjustability as my 83, and maybe the dual-range....
