  1. Well, I spoke too soon, stinkin cel light comes on yesterday AGAIN! I thought the new wires were the culprit. I'm tired of messing with it, will probably sell and buy old pickup truck.
  2. Well, Nipper was right, put on oem wires, disconnect battery to put out the cel light. I've driven my baby over 100 miles and, NO CEL! Nipper just saved me a great deal of $$$. I was about the go to another garage for a valve job. THANKS GUYS!
  3. thanks for all the info guys. Only piece I forgot to mention was that the mechanic did put ngk plugs in and test drove, light still on. I'm wondering if maybe I put oem wires on, will that make a difference. Anyone's opinion, is this car ok to drive around with cel on like this?
  4. Here is my dilemna, 95 legacy lsi wgn, 186k, running great until 1 wk ago. Check engine light comes on solid. Take to reputable independent Subaru shop. Here is what they come up with: pulled codes, p0303 & p0304 misfouire, determined bad ignition coil for cylinder 3&4, replaced coil pack. I pick up the car, drive it 20 minutes and check engine light comes on again, this time flashing then solid. Take back to shop, they determine, possible valve sticking in cyl 3 & 4...would require engine disassembly for further diagnosis. The shop said if I keep driving it I could end up damaging the catalytic converter, which means more $$$$. ANy suggestions appreciated. I have no idea of what this might cost and if it is worth it for year car and mileage. btw, the car is running fine, except the check engine light still on. I want to keep the car, but if fixing is cost prohibitive, then I'll have to get another. Thanks for any input.
  5. Check out the power steering fluid reservoir, might have a slow leak underneath or ??. My 95 lsi has a slow leak that smells like something is burning. It is going in the shop over Xmas to repair, judging by info on this board, it is likely to be a o ring.
  6. No, I seems to drop more quickly than the others, they are brand new, less than 1 month old.
  7. Hey guys, what is normal air loss over time for tires? Mine seem to be losing air rather quickly, but I don't know. Put in 36psi and in less than two weeks, down to 30> Thanks
  8. I occasionally develop a leak in my sunroof during heavy rains. Checked the drains, they are ok. When I looked at the sunroof today, I saw two things: First, when the sunroof is closed, I can shine a flashlight on the outside/top of the sunroof rear section and see in! There is a tiny bit of room between the rubber and where it is suppposed to seal. Second, when I'm inside and the sunroof is closed, there seems to be quite a bit of play, just up, when I push it up with my hand it travels up maybe an 1/8", then comes back down to normal. This happens in the same spot, rear portion of the sunroof. Other than that, it seems to work fine. Is this normal and can I repair myself?
  9. Well, picked it up tonite, ran it home and everything seems ok, temp gauge back to normal. But as you suggested, I am going to mention it to my mechanic about possible HG issues. Thanks
  10. Now I'm a little worried over the HG possibility. I only drove it about 5 miles at 45 mph after the temp started to rise. Do I really have to worry about the stinking HG issue? The car has 163k and has been a real workhorse for me, no real issues in 10 years.
  11. You guys were right on the money! It was air in the cooling system! The mechanic apologized profusely, said he test drove it for half an hour and it seems fine. Thanks for all your help!
  12. Looked at the front end when it was up on the flatbed and saw clear liquid on drivers side bumper and underneath. Couldn't tell what it was though.
  13. Just picked up my 95 lsi wgn from shop tonite, timing belt, crank seal, cam seal, water pump, serpentine belt, flush cooling system, and 2 miles from shop the temp gauge starts rising and pegging out at "H". Called AAA to tow it back to shop for mechanic to fix tomorrow. What happened?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
