Wiring diagram for pick-up ?
Night Devil replied to Night Devil's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well... after "digging" in the wiring loom I found the problem. Possibly the previous owner try to fixed a problen and create a new one by connecting the wires wrong. What I got was 3 wires and I knew that one of them is 12v, the other is body ground, but the third was uncertain. I couldn't even tell if it suppose to be ground or 12v. and further more, I was curious... how is it, that each door is distinguished on the gauges panel but not by the cab light ? So... yesterday I was... a man on a mission !!! Each door switch connect the body ground to the gauges. Each door lights up different hazard signal (left & right), so the gauge "need to" distinguish between the switches, but the cab light "don't care" which door is open and need to lights up in any door opening case. so basically, the cab light gets 1x live feed 12V and 2x ground feeds. choosing the "correct" ground done by the switch on the cab light. One ground is directly from the body (fixed light on), and the other comes from the gauges, after collecting both switches (4 switches in case of sedan) by a technique called in electricity "power or-ing" which done by diodes. (those diodes are part of the gauges circuit, and if its intersting anyone, I will be more detailed about this simple technique). first time for me to see such system at car, and glad to find it after 3 hours of searching wire colors at my current dismantled cab. a repair manual with color wiring diagram could've been great. Thank you all for your attention and help. Ezra -
Wiring diagram for pick-up ?
Night Devil replied to Night Devil's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nope. EA81 with single carb, as far as I know... 1800cc, manual, 4x4 this is it (before the present reconditioning) : Ezra -
Hi. I'm looking for 4x4 pick-up (1992 model !!!) chassis wiring diagram. (yes, I know it's a rare or not exist model in the US). I reckon it will be similar to a 1984 DL. I just bought the Hayens manual but it will take up to 10 days until it will be here, at Israel, and I want to fix it. The problem is the lights within the cab. When open the doors it won't turn on. The indication at the gauges works just fine, but no 12v fit reach the light. I want to follow it to it's source... thank Ezra

Thanks Adam... I do have pretty much experience with technical issue but I want to get the best rack to start work with. I've double checked the XT that we got. It's 87 model with EA82 engine. As I understood, the pump should be my last concern as it's pretty easy to fit one from a newer car. I've searched everywhere, here @ Israel, for a 82-84 GLF. Few were sold here. I know that it's rack should fit, but... I didn't found one. The most accessible rack for me, now, is the one of the XT turbo, but as far as I manage to understand you guys, it wont fit. right ? Does any-one here got a suitable rack for sell ? -

Thanks. Let me get this straight... The XT is equiped with EA82, isn't it ? Can I use it ? Don't have any more photos of this sticker, and tell you the truth, I don't even know if it's came like that from subaru factory. I can make some more photos of it, if you like... but I reckon this sticker will be good as any other, isn't it ? E. -

thanks guys.... Well... the 80's models are (very) hard to get here at Israel. the Mid 90's and above are very common, so I guess i'm going to have hard time trying to get the right rack (I think all other things are pretty easy to get) Any 90's models that will fit ? (all the brat\brumby that were imported to Israel don't have PS). Any one got a rack for sale ? I do have XT Turbo (burned, and I keep it for parting it out). Is it's rack will fit my car ? What about Legacy ? Leone ? What makes those car's rack incompatible ? Please guys... help on this one... and... Here is a photo taken 2 days ago, when I got it... I'm going to strip it back to it's unique open look with no crate at the back... and going to for a paint job (Metallic Gray)... http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/00f3/t/h/e/n/i/g/h/t/d/e/v/i/l/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/@/r/200210070817121764/200507261936298438/Subaru_03.jpg -
