Running with 18+volts. AAHHH!!!!
MaroonDuneDoom posted a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the oddest thing is hapening to my soob. it will run showing 18volts most of the time. when i idle down, it will run the normal 14 or so. the headlights also dim when i slow to idle. when i wrap the engine up, the voltmeter climbs up to 18 or so. this short wherever has caused both of my headlights to go out, high and low beam. what is causing this. it has to be in the alternator circuit. by the way. what number fuse would my headlights be. i lost the cover and am now clueless. if somone could count for me, like reading a book left to right, i'd really appreciate it. have to go to work in a couple of hours and don't get off 'til 1 AM. thanks in advance -
rotary :slobber: if i were to ever build up an engine, it'd be a rotary. i'd use a mazda rotary. a buddy of mine has an RX7 that just hauls balls.

i eventually got frustrated and got a mysterious case of the f*** its. you'll never find it all. I just let her burn. Too much of a pain in my rump roast to fix. if it helps you at all, imagine that it's fog instead of smoke.

hey Fox, HOLY SH!T!!. the undeniable off-road ferocity that is the Cheverolet Spectrum. I haven't hear of this car in forever. a good friend of mine had one in our sophomore year of high school. i loved that little car. we took that little front wheel drive monster all over the place. they go every where and do catch air quite easily. we put holes through the floor panel and everything before the axle eventually went. best part is it was only a $200 car.

I think EVERYONE should have one of these

a friend of mine has an old chevy van, pretty nice, wth wrap-around couch, stereo, "DUBs", etc. surprisingly, it looks good with the 20" wheels. i always feel like the most baddassinest thug whenever i ride in it. put the seat back, way back, and pop in "slowride". -
Going up to 11 inches lift and taking the T case plunge
MaroonDuneDoom replied to subarubrat's topic in Off Road
GOOD LORD!!!! that is just unbelievable. defnitely interested in seeing the final product. Just remember, you'll have it in your power to run over every normal car on the road. Use these powers wisely young grasshopper. -

no need to start on another trashwagon fellas. she lives in Wyoming and is very much loved by her owner and the majority of local peace officers. i need to get to a meet so i can win the ugliest POS beater contest. wish i had some AAA batteries so i could post some shots. it's a mess. -
my mom's boyfriend has a Hyster with a subaru engine in it. I don't know what kind off hand, but i'll check it out some time.

i've still got mud on parts of the wheel and around the bottom of the driver's window from a night of boozing and offroading. first time i got it stuck too. had 4 other people in my wagon. we eventually got out. burned the clutch up a little bit. looks like fun. -

Clutch and Vendor Questions
MaroonDuneDoom replied to e3mt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i know, i'm not shawn. But.....I recommend going to napa and getting a Luk clutch (pronounced luke). cost me 200 bones for an ea82. they had mine in stock. you may get a slightly better deal on-line. but when it comes time for warranty and the like it's nice to have somebody in town to talk to. good luck. have fun!:-p -

i bet that flowmaster cost 4-5x more. i'm certain it sounds great. it's flowmaster. but..... $100 is 1/5 of the cost of my vehicle. i'm all for the $20 mufflers. -

ea82t acting up after coil and wires
MaroonDuneDoom replied to xforxlifex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ditto. xforxlifex: the gap doesn't make too much difference. my understanding is that it will make a little more low-end torque. -
Correct plug wire routing
MaroonDuneDoom replied to Hudmud's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i'll reply too. lets get some attention to this one. i've been thinking a tad bit about wires lately. -
Who had the lifted wagon near Warrenton VA on 29?
MaroonDuneDoom replied to subarubrat's topic in Off Road
thats too cool that you guys actually see lifted soobs. i've never actually laid my eyes on one. i don't even know any other subaru wheelers in my state. a few that had soobs and found out how baddass they are. we have alot of beat generation types that drive them here. a few hippie baby boomers too. good lord, i need to leave this state. -
i'd love to attend, but it is 780 miles away from me ad i've never pushed my wagon to travel that far. Definitely by next year. i found a soob that one of my mom's friends has that i plan on buying for $800. 50k on jap engine, new axles, S/R though. wish i could make it. it is very inspiring to see all of those that are MORE than willing to drive 10+ hours. two thumbs up for you guys/gals!
