  1. So, I have this. The car will need lower panel work, and this will probably go away for that. Is there someone on the forum who makes this sort of thing? I can crayon stencil over this to get an image, but don't have the skill to recreate it. Anyone interested in doing this? I could create some rubbings, and snail mail them, I think?
  2. Just purchased my second brat. Funny part is which side does the Brat logo belong. There both different. The one on the right runs the left needs a fuel tank. They both need mechanical. Any good places to find parts.
  3. Attempting to replace the Fuel Filter on a '78 Brat and want to run the fuel out of the line....I took the fuse out from the main breaker (driver's side) labeled "IG ST FUEL" (5th from the top) thinking that would do the trick and disable the Fuel Pump but the car wouldn't run out of gas. This is a brand new car to me and there is a bit of secondary wiring, but is there another trick to turning off the pump that I am missing? Thanks!
  4. Hello again everyone! I've been spending some time around the interent this evening, attempting to locate the size or dimensions on the EA71 engine in the First-Gen Subaru Brat, and/or the size/dimensions of the engine bay. I'd of course measure it myself, but my '78 is currently a few towns over, waiting in my Aunt's yard, until I can get my new home/garage cleared up. Height from engine-mounts to hood, inner fender to inner fender, firewall to radiator mount. Basically to see what the options are for engine sizes sans modification. ~stayDOOGAN On a side-note, my search for interesting tid-bits tonight has borne fruit on a few sweet articles and items. Of few of them are... New Chevy LTG, avail in 2015. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate-engines/ltg-four-cylinder.html and also... Old-School MotorWeek review of the Second-Gen BRAT.
  5. I just spotted a 1978 Brat at my local wrecking yard. Portland Or. SE Pick-N-Pull. It looks complete and straight. It has a bit of rust in the drivers side rear quarter panel. Too bad you cant purchase the complete thing. Better get to it while its there. They said that most cars only last about 1 month before they are sent to the crusher. These photos were taken at the local yard. Hope this helps you out. I dont work for the wrecking yard, just happened to spot it while shopping at the yard today. I hate seeing classics go without a fight. Anytime I get to put a shout out I try. Also there are 6 Loyals & 11 Legacy's at the same damn yard. Most of which are all complete. Cheers
