  1. Hi all, My CEL went on the other day when I started my Subaru Outback 2011. My engine had a minor backfire and since then the idle has been on the fritz, going up and down with out and pressure on the gas pedal. From my research it seems like the idle control air valve. Can anyone verify this for me and recommend the best place to get a replacement part? Also, if anyone could point me in the right direction to locating the idle controls air valve in my current engine that would be awesome!
  2. I'm trying to replace my wood trim but can't find anywhere that has instructions to remove it. Can someone point me in the right direction. Please and thank you.

I've narrowed my new (used) car search down to a 2011 Outback (38,xxx miles) http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=CSE_0&vin=4S4BRBCC9B3389671 and a 2011 Forester (25,xxx miles). Both are the base 2.5x model, with pretty limited features outside of alloys. http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=VAS_0&vin=JF2SHBBC0BH719209 I've had one experience with a Subaru and that was driving a new model Outback over the course of 4 days through Montana. I enjoyed it, the paddle shifted CVT tranny felt nice and crisp, had great leg room front and back, seemed to handle well enough (I drive a 2003 Hyundai Sonata, just about anything is better than this) and I enjoyed the car overall outside of the fairly significant blind spots. I have not driven a Forester, yet. I'd like to know about experiences with each vehicle, namely reliability, maintenance and anything mechanical. Thanks
  4. Bought a new legacy (2011) with OEM remote start. Remote is not paired. Is this something I can do myself, or do I have to take it to the dealer? I found the steps below online, but they don't seem to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steps I found that AREN'T working: Open drivers door turn key in ignition from lock to on to lock to on to lock to on Hit remote button once turn key to lock
