  1. Two hours ago my1991 Loyale just stopped running. Attempt to restart acted like timing was way off and there was backfire. As timing belts were visible (I've been leaving t.b. covers off) I rotated the crank bolt and checked flywheel marks with cam sprockets. All good there, showing that timing belts did not jump. Car running fine, no warning, then stall. Recent history: I got some gas just 5 minutes before (Was on empty) . Nobody tampered with car. And - I pulled ignition coil wire and car cranked over normally. Check ECM under dash. No codes. Will check distributor cap and rotor in the morning. Thanks
  2. So my 94 Loyale will semi-start if I hold the throttle to the floor. When it does start, it barely keeps running with full throttle and it backfires (out the intake) the whole time. I purchased this car in this condition so I cant give much information on the history of it. I know the distributor & wires were removed, but I'm pretty sure I have it all back together correctly. Not getting any codes from the ECU either.
  3. Been having bad backfires with my weber, and the car will almost die if floored from idle. This causes the car to be gutless in anything besides 4wd lo. Video: Good parts are 0:00-0:30 1:20-1:30 and then 2:00 to the end. The shot of the shifter is me going into 4wd hi, after that it dies, but I think that's partly because my u joints are crap. Bonus shots of the luscious interior. As you can see my tach is broken. Can you guys please post pics of how your tach is wired to the engine? I have this plug, which is in a sheath with the shiny connector beneath it.

  5. hey everyone! just having an issue with my 94 loyale. I recently replaced the distributor cap and I will be installing new spark plugs and wires, however when driving, my car will have a very unsteady idle or even drop so low that it will die altogether. i have to feather the gas just to keep it running while its on the road and if i dont it will stall out and ill have to start it up again. I have sprayed around the lines for vacuum leaks and i have done research on wether its the fuel injector or maybe one of the sensors or the solenoid is stuck open. i am not sure where to go from here. I have a chiltons repair manual and have looked over what it could be, I would just like a bit more input and direction and hopes its not a big endeavor in both cost and time. thanks!
  6. I just bought a subaru with an EA71, finally got it running and now it backfires when i shift, rev, go uphil or turn it off. The problem has gotten so bad that my muffler blew apart. I'm sure this has been answered before but i would appreciate any help.
  7. Every time i turn my car off, rev too fast or shift i get "gunshots" and i think my neighbors are getting angry so i wouldn't mind if Anyone could help me... and my muffler blew up
