  1. Hi All and Happy Summer! I just lost an auction on eBay for the chromed, snap on center strip for the Brat GL 1983 front bumper. This is a bull-nosed chrome strip that mounts onto the front bumper with snaps, above the license plate in the center of the bumper. I'm willing to pay up to $100 including shipping to 10301 for a really clean strip in great condition. Thanks!
  2. HI, I was wondering if any could tell me if the 2005 Subaru Impreza base model wagon body style is the same as the 2007. I need to replace the two passenger side doors and the rear bumper so i was wondering if i take these parts of the 2005 model if I will be able transfer them to the 2007 model. Any information on this subject would be super helpful Thankss

  4. Planning on buying an outback this saturday, and have a couple questions 1. Do strut blocks have to be angled on EJ cars like with the EA cars? Looking to do probably 4 inches. I've seen some camber bolts from eibach that offer up to 1.75* of adjustment. Would that be enough? 2. Have any of you guys clearanced your bumpers on an outback? I'm looking to do something like on the GC imprezas where you cut off the lower half. Looking to see some pictures before I start cutting. I was also debating trying to find a legacy bumper that would look good chopped, as I've heard legacy and outback bumpers will swap. Thanks - CL
  5. Hey so today I made a cool front bumper for my Subaru RX. Its not done yet still going to build in a custom two piece skid plate into it. All I did to make this was cut the bumper support out until the only thing left was the support. Welding some steel tubing into it untill it started to take shape. I am pleased with how it came out i just need some WRC looking lights to complete the look I am going for. The rear bumper is 4x2 steel frame rail that I stacked onto each other and simply bolted them up to the stock location of the rear bumper support so I can switch back easily. Stock Bumper support cut in half already. Then removed some more of it Welded the first 1x1 steel bar into the beast Welded an interesting shape and stuck with it Slowly started adding more metal Hood closed and fender just hanging on Now moving onto the back I built a custom trunk and frame into the car here it is without the bumper. Looks intense already. Caged intense trunk also another view Custom rear bumper Drilling holes Don't mind the welds =) flux core wire no gas in the winter usually with snow coming in haha Also some trunk pics other side

  7. ive been wondering which vehicle im safer in, i feel like the bumper on my gl wagon is way more superior over my 93 impreza which has plastic everywhere, i hate plastic, and my 79DL wagons bumper is a chrome metal bumper, my gf feels safer in my 89gl but im not sure myself? would i survive but my car wouldn't in my impreza but i wouldn't survive in my gl but my car would? has anyone ever crashed their subarus? thanks for your opinions. also my 79 dl wagon doesn't have those rubber bumpers on the bumper, wish it did, their kind of cool.
  8. i was just wondering if anybody has a mudrat tube bumper or something similar hanging around? my brother just got a new mandrel bender, and im itching to fab up an o/r bumper for my forester. im curious to know what size tubing mudrat79 used. Looks like the perfect diameter because of course weight is always a concern. And ive looked for some kind of reviews of his stuff that describes the weight and material used...but found nothing. I've got a ton of 1.25 schedule 40 and 80 seamless that I've built some truck bumpers, cages and misc. things out of, but i think its probably a little too heavy. So any advice or experience with the mudrats bumpers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  9. Need to replace front bumper cover. 1) Is taking old one out and putting new one as simple as on the previous gen - just few clips around the bottom and at the top? It does look like it. 2) dealers sell them, but it is not clear whether they are primed? painted? What's involved in painting one? It is twilight blue metallic (H1Q)? Is metallic extra challenge? If there was a way to get one already painted my color code I'd prefer going that way? Thanks, -Michael
  10. Trying to locate new plastic clips that hold the rear bumper extensions against the body. They're 20mm with a shoulder the bumper extension slips in too.
  11. Howdy. Picked up this snazzy GL about a month ago. Wondering if anyone can identify it's bumper. Where it's from. Who made it. I've seen two other Subies here on USMB with it. My curiosity has been sparked. If you or a loved one has any information, please... do tell. -BoxerRebellion out.
  12. Does anyone know where an RX front lip can be obtained? or a "replica"/something aftermarket? I know there are plenty of DIY lips for imprezas and legacies, but how about for an ea82? pics?

  15. Basically I'm wondering what radiators will work in my 82 gl wagon. With ea81. The junkyard has an 85 , 87 and an 88. Do these have the same radiator? Is there any parts from these cars that are the same from 82? Rear bumper possibly? What about turning lights and brake lights ? If any parts would swap right over with bolt in ease?
  16. While horsing around in my wifes Subaru on our snowy driveway last winter I rolled it up on a boulder shredding the lower from bumper. Can I order these or does it have to be from the dealer. By the way I can no longer play with my wife's car........:-(.

  20. Well... it all Started one Weekend, my Dad took the Yellow Wagon to do a Short trip, and he stopped at a Gas station for some gas, then at its food mart for some snacks. While he was sat on the car, correctly Parked at the Food Mart, talkin' by Cellphone, someone drunk driver did side hit the front bumper very Fast... and this is the Result: The Damage wasn't much bigger, due to the fact that the bumper was already reinforced with Fiberglass and some added metal assist points, but the car moved around a feet horizontally with the side hit. Well... dad just got a li'l Head's hit, but he's Fine, O.K. Now ... but my Yellow Wagon's front Bumper was in very sad conditions... So, I went home (I work soo far away for now) to do the Repair, and I asked a friend who is a Good Fiberglass Artisan, to help me with such material. First, we took out the Front Bumper. This is a Detailed view of the Damage, includin' some Li'l twist on it's Metallic Base. Then, we started to remove out the old finish material and we Dissasembled it, Repairin' the Li'l Twist on its Base, and Reinforced it with more metallic assist points, a pair of `em did bypass the original plastic cover, The idea is to hold very firm that plastic cover to the Metallic base. We needed to cut down the Remainin' Reinforcement points... ...This is my Friend, doin' that. Then, We used sandpaper and covered it with the Fiberglass. Fiberglass comes like a Fiber Fabric, just cut the pieces you want, and then Spread all over it a Epoxy Compound, mixed with Hardener... Many coats of that Epoxy / Fiber, like you're makin' a Lasagna! Then, we used Sandpaper on the Already Dryed Fiberglass (untill Next day's Afternoon, to be Sure that was completely Cured) And Covered it with Flex. You can Notice a Li'l bit the Heads of the Metallic Assist points, and the Licence Plate's Screws, that comin' from behind the Bumper. This is how it ended lookin` at my Friend`s Repair Shop: (he did help me with fiberglass, I Prepared and Painted it) And Finally, This is the Results: My Yellow Wagon's Smile is Back! ... ... I Love it! The Bumper was Clean, while the Rest of the car was Dirty... But it Looks Soo Good! Well... I Hope this Idea could help those who want to Repair or Improve the Lookin' of their Car's Bumpers... Next to Do: a Hood Scoop... "the InterFooler" ...Comin' Soon! Kind Regards.
