EA81 Coil wires?

Recommended Posts

I was just hooking up the wiring harness on the buggy and ripped off a tag, I had put on harness wires leading to the coil

I need help with the wires!

There were five wires connected to the coil originally. On the coil right now,(these were never removed when I pulled the motor) I have 2 black wires on the + side going to a capacitor and the dark recesses of the motor. On the - side I have a yellow wire going to the motor also. I know these are correct.

Stupid Question?

The two wires that are attached to the main wiring harness are yellow and black. I now need to connect these.

Which goes to + or - ?

I remember the harness yellow going to the + (with the the two black wires going to the motor)? That would leave the harness black wire going to the - side of the coil with the existing yellow wire?

Mixing the black and yellow on different terminals seems wrong but that's how I remember it?

Anyone know 82 Hatch coil wire colors? Can anyone confirm this configuration?

Thanks,

Glenn

Morning, Glenn....

Your Yellow to harness is for Tach, black I believe helps Operate the fuel cutoff solinoid I told you about over above the hood release lever inside the car...? I am sure there are other things they help to, but don't have book in Face, and Too early to remember....:)

Going to bring that Bad Boy out for the WCSS 6 Show...?

But as Fox said Yellow to yellow, and Black to black........:)

Later, John in Oregon....
