mookiex4 Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Hello all, I am not sure how to check for the problem to determine what I have to do. While driving, the steering wheel jerks to the left sharply and there is a grinding and clicking noise. It has been getting progressively worse and I was wondering how to check it out and find out what it is. At first I was thinking it may be the brake caliper, then was thinking wheel bearing or CV Joint, but do not want to take the brakes apart if I need to be looking someplace else. mickytrus Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Sounds like a bad axle cv joint...... do some figure 8's in a parking lot at like 5mph... Brake pads that are worn on a side more than the other, torn boot on the axle, resistance while spinning the wheel with it off the ground, etc. Your diagnostic skills in person, even if you are pretty novice, are going to be better than us trying to guess here on a forum.
