I find them useless, and yes, they would become stuck too. All of my drift punches are technically drift pin punches. No taper, at all. Reverse pops out of gear just like the last transmission before I totally blew it out. I'm really close to having all the interior put back together then I'll snap some more photos. I had a specially bent (hammer and vise) shifter I kept reusing... te damn plastic bushing/coupler didn't like the beating though.... I've been working on other people's projects (Head Gaskets on an 01 Legacy Outback, Heater core & heater control valve on BRAT, struts, brake pads & rotors & both front axles on my 98 Legacy Outback). I think I can finally finish up the BRAT now. Next I'm going to work on getting the bumpers painted with some bed liner, then install my winch.
