its a sway bar that uses a torsion spring from a toyota pickup and locking hubs to disconnect and reconnect.

they work awesome with proper leverage, and are dirt cheap to make

Posters please keep negative comments to a minimum. Read the post to see why it's up in the first place. I'm doing everything the way I am cause I want to simple as that, I hope that clears up all future questions as to why I'm doing this project.

The torsion setup is cheap and easy it's also faster call me lazy I don't care I know what's up.

This project will be complete at 10-11k then the interior will be modified why? Cause I want to.

The engine mods or possible swap will be decided once I get home and start my high performance powertrains courses at wyotech.

I've been reading up on the yota fourms and there's a debate between 4.56 and 4.88 what would you (everyone) run with 33's?

as a toyota builder, i would suggest 4.56 for 33s, 4.88 for larger, or towing

thats what most lean towards. do you know if there is modification needed to fit it in a 4.10 diff?

I've been running the stock 4.10s with 33s for years. My clutch is fine, but the little 22re has a real hard time pushing them any faster than 65. With your 2.2, you should be fine. 4.56s oughtta do it.

you can add 4.56 to any 8 inch third member, i would suggest looking for factory toyota 4.56 gears (i have them in my 4runner)

look at 90-03 3.4 v6 auto with the "high rise" or 265 tire option, most came with 4.56 and lockers, pre installed

check out "car-part.com" there is a set of 4.56 thirds in kittitas wa.....

any completed pics of frame?cheers, b

You've pretty much seen it unless you wanna see it under the car... The drop brackets are being made for the front axle right now and the coils are ordered and were awaiting delivery.

The bell housing for the w series yota tranny to ej engine arrived a few days ago.

There is more to come once the drop brackets are cut and installed the links will get bolted up and pics will be on order.

I know I'm a lol over due for pics

i love it. thank you for finally posting this thread. i have recently moved and havnt had a good chance to use a computer to look at your thread but bad rump roast man. i agree on the stock toy axles with the built in locker and 4.56's i worked for toyota for a while and your subi would be awesome with them and you car doesn't weigh enough or have enough power to break them so you would be set with 33's. personally when i finally get the parts to do this build i am going with a bigger tire but the people i wheel with do more then trailride. good luck and hope to see it in action soon!!!!:lol::lol:
