xbeerd
How many teeth should the timing belt have for a frankenmotor setup? i looked on Rock auto, they listed a 223 tooth belt for a 99 sohc 2.2l and a 211 tooth belt for a 95 2.2l. im running 99 2.5block with 95 22heads currently im just running the belt that was on the junkyard '95 ej22. idosubaru
currently im just running the belt that was on the junkyard '95 ej22. and how is it running? match the timing belt to the heads. picture the blocks as all being identical - so heads determine the belt. johnceggleston
from what i have read, the belt matches the heads. so you are running the right one.
xbeerd
ok, thanks for the clarification. makes sense that it should match the heads if the blocks are all identical. its running well but i wanted to replace the belt just cuz the one on there has been sitting in a junkyard for a couple years on a shelf
MilesFox
Shmaus' frankenmotor uses the ej22e belt with ej22e heads. I got a whole timing belt and cam seals in a box as leftovers. If you want it, let me know. I do not have pulleys, though. snag it up for whatever it is worff to you.
