dalton
I just installed a Subaru 2.5L out of a Legacy in my Baja bug. it seem that the rev limiter is set to 4200rpms is there any way to raise it up to around 6000 rpms ?
MilesFox
It will need to see a vss signal.

dalton
the computer came out of a 1999 Outback Legacy with an auto tranny.
nipper
That rev limiter you are hitting is "limp mode". A lack of a VSS signal will put the car in limp mode.
Fairtax4me
There's a pin that needs to be grounded so the ECU doesn't look for the auto trans. Also need to ground a pin to tell the ECU the manual trans is in gear, unless you used a Subaru trans, in which case you can just hook up the switch. Fairtax4me
You can find the FSM for 99 here: http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/ Look in the wiring diagram section. ECU pinout should be in there. If not there look in OBD2 diagnostics under troubleshooting.
Rooster2
Nice rig....Does the radiator function well at its present location?? IMO, it looks a bit awkward where it is mounted. You would get better air flow if you swapped radiator and spare tire mounting locations. Something to think about.
ivans imports
Very nice job !!! a 90-92 wire harness from legacy will run that engine and needs no vss to run i use this harness becuse is non obd2 and has no limp mode makes better power to. You may want to think about that harness have had many problems trying to stand alone 95 and up harneses

I wanted to keep the weight down low.
