It bolted right up. You can even use a 5spd clutch and flywheel if you need to. In a Forester, it requires you to use a Forester automatic driveshaft, unless you remove the factory lift, then you can use an STi sriveshaft and tranny crossmember. If you use the Forester driveshaft, and you change to an STi R180 rear diff, you need to change the pinion flange on the rear diff. Front hubs are the same, so you can use Forester or Impreza front axles. The rear hubs are different if you go with an R180, so you need STi rear hubs, and axles. Or you can use an older R160 with the same final drive as the transmission, and use the Forester rear hubs, and axles to match the diff.
