Installing SPFI fuel pump on Carbed Wagon

I got the old fuel pump off today, it looks like I'll have to get a bigger hose for the outlet, as the one on the SPFI pump is fairly large. I'm hoping that larger hose will fit snugly on the hardline at the other end. Can someone tell me what the pcv looking thing is on the old outlet hose though? And whether or not I need to keep it?

Oh and I'm pretty sure I've got it right, but want to make sure, I've got a black wire and a red and green wire going to the fuel pump. Red and green is positive?

The larger end(12mm) of pump is supply from the tank. The 90* small end(8mm) goes forward to injectors. You'll need to run a 5/16" line for fuel return to tank, all the way. Here's bulk steel tubing:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220156

Sweet, then I shall get rid of it.

Czny, thanks! Good thing I didn't install it already. I've read in other people's swaps that they just replaced the rubber hoses with spfi hose (in the engine compartment, and at the pump) I was thinking of just doing that rather than run a whole new line. Think it'll work?

No, I meant a return line for fuel. Carbed cars do not have this - FI cars do. Its needed to releave the excess pressure/fuel from the FI plumbing up front at the intake manifold.

Several others have already done this before - search & you'll find.

EDIT: Seems I mis-spoke about the return line. Scanned some pages from the 87 FSM:

I was thinking of my carbed 73Chevy 4x4 conversion to TBI. Ooops!
