SLAVAGE Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 I have a 91 Loyale EA82 Yesterday the crank pulley that runs the alternator & accessories v-belt loosened up and fell off (its the center pulley that connects to same shaft as both timing belts & flywheel). I have the pulley and belt but I need to figure out the correct bolt size as the bolt got lost ( I know its a 22mm head but i don't know the length, width or thread size). I must have not gotten this bolt quite tight enough when i did the timing belts this summer. Anybody know the bolt size/type? Thanks! silverback Posted November 2, 2014 Share Posted November 2, 2014 M14 thread with 1,75 pitch. Flange head bolt, flange diameter is 38mm. Under the flange, you have 12mm of unthreaded shank and 20mm of thread. Torque to 66--79 ft/lbs. Old post I know but this thread came up in a Google search and was questioned by others discussing it on FB today. I just checked the crank bolt thread pitch on the original EA82 engine out of my 87 DL and it is without a doubt a M14 x 1.5. I happen to have a metric tap of that size and it threads perfectly into the hole and lines up exact when laid alongside the bolt. I assume other EA82s will be the same.
